PC GRAW2 is great. Don't even...

really? Did you forget the last level? "Dum de dum de dum. I'll just set you down on a bridge in range of several 50 cals and snipers. What's that? You all died in the scripted cutscene of rappelling down from the chopper before you could even take control of the player?"

practically every review mentioned that level as a gamestopper.

Weren't they working on Bionic Commando, the new Terminator game...and a third one (whose name has slipped my mind) all at the same time?

I thought they were a modestly sized studio?

Methinks they would have worked out a number of the kinks if their focus hadn't been so diluted.

I wonder how long it will take the majority of the GAF community to latch onto this game. As news of its abysmal sales become more widespread, I predict a shift in the lasting legacy of the game. Threads will be posted reflecting on it as one of the best games of the generation. It will be remembered as a game that tragically underperformed at retail because a developer took a chance with an ambitious game and got burned by it.

There will also be a lot of indignant responses about how people were "playing it wrong" as well.

I've seen that movie.

What's most schizophrenic is when BC:R gets accepted as a true Capcom game but 3D BC not when both games were developed by the same studio and the same people...
What? The two games are almost nothing alike. I wouldn't expect the developers of N+ to make the next Gears of War. I'd say the major problems with BC was ignoring what they did in Rearmed. The overall style, the semi non-linear progression, ability to carry more weapons, extra lives to reduce frustration... etc.
