Capcom: RE Revelations not fit for Vita

If you spent 250$ on a DOA system you also feel everything would be perfect for it.

To be honest i still think the vita would be worth $250 if it has good software, but it doesn't.When the $250 price was announced it seemed like the greatest thing ever compared to the OG 3DS price at the time.

Man Capcom is being really stupid with the decision. And that
fake
excuse is really pathetic.

How is it a stupid decision? The choice of what to say was retarded, but the choice not to bother with a port makes alot of sense when you look at Vita software sales.

Capcom still bitter that Sony didn't suck their dicks in public for saving the psp with MH.

We get it capcom, one game saved the psp. Stop acting like a child.

…. when we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent.

Oh my. I hope Capcom informs people on the back of the box that the game requires a large TV screen and a surround sound system to play.

I wonder if Nintendo struck a deal with them for it to be exclusive to 3DS on Handhelds and all around Exclusive for a year or something.

Take a look at the entirety of Capcom's Vita support since launch and ask yourself again. I think you'll come to a different conclusion.

Realistic answer: Vita isn't selling well enough to warrant a port.

I think it's actually too bad. I would love to have RECVX and RE4 on Vita, alongside with a handheld Revelations that contains all the UE upgrades.

Do you know which upgrades are those?

Not fit for a system where you actually have all the necessary inputs to play the game the way it was meant to be played and not spend $20 on an add-on.

With it being on available on PC, PS3, 360, Wii U soon, and 3DS still an option, not many people would get it on Vita. The answer itself isn't the best but it's not hard to see why they're not going with it, especially if they weren't too impressed with the 3DS version's sales.

Silly answer to the the question but I doubt they'd openly come out and say that the system just isn't selling well enough to make it worth the time.

How so? Nothing sells on Vita, and this certainly wouldn't be the game that turns out to be a million seller.

Not gonna deny it won't sell a lot, but they ported it to PS3, which you can easily port to PSV, so it wouldn't have been much effort. It would be like what Ubisoft did with Rayman Origins. It was never guaranteed to sell a lot, but porting it everywhere helped it reach a good number as a whole.

That is confusing....

They announced a wii-u ver right?

Man, the Vita has so much damn potential and no developer outside of studios belonging to Sony give two shits about it.

Sony just aren't fit to make handhelds, they obviously proved that two generations in a row.

Indeed. That could potentially sour their relationship with Sony. It's best to play it safe and provide a bullshit answer rather than come out and say "Vita is a bomba, nothing sells on that platform, it's absolutely toxic, and we don't want to go anywhere near it!"

Would be if it got more awesome software. Don't get the logic in not developing games for something because it isn't selling, but it would sell if it had those games so...make the games.

I'm loving my Vita and Revelations on it would be my purchase. But I can understand the sales thing.

...Capcom has been so bad with excuses.

I don't think porting it to Vita will get it into anymore hands, honestly. There's no market there. Capcom must have realized that, and they're trying to cut their losses and abandon the sinking ship. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we never saw another Vita game from them.

Don't be sad Vita folks. The original game on 3DS was bad. I actually enjoyed RE6 more than Revelations. This way, you don't get burned on a $50 port lol.

Some studios have, including Capcom and all of their titles have bombed horribly.

People didn't take to the software, expecting studios to keep throwing games at something when their products don't sell is being unreasonable.

40~ hours spent on revelations 3DS with no CPP. the game plays exactly like RE4 (IE perfectly fine) without one. Classic RE tank controls everyone familiar with the series is used to.

that said, he's very obviously just dodging the question rather than being forthright and admitting capcom doesn't see the vita as a platform worth investing in

Capcom: It's not you, Vita, it's me!

That cracked me up more than it should.

Its not Capcoms job to sell the Vita.

By all means, provide a list of all the amazing selling Vita software.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation sold combined as much as Monster Hunter Tri which is still not available outside Japan.

Lol poor Vita

It'd be better than nothing, which is what the Vita is kind of facing right now.
Great gif

Sorry, but nothing sells on Vita is false ...

No it's really not.

Even Call of Duty (what was this 310k or so? For CoD) and Ass Creed, two of the biggest franchises in gaming right now barely moved anything.

Even if we are talking in Japan where handhelds are the strongest Vita has what, 3 games over 200k?

Nothing has moved in big numbers, nothing and something like RE:R most certainly wasn't going to change that.

So you are saying that Capcom wouldn't make any money from porting the game over? Me and you both know that's absolute bullshit. The relationship between vita and Capcom is like the relationship between wii u and ea.

Exactly. I'm sick and tired of everyone trying to cover up what a mess the Vita is. The hardware is phenomenal, but third parties are abandoning ship, and Sony seems to have little-to-no interest in providing worthwhile content to save the ship from sinking hard and fast.
