Capcom to PC gamers: Buy SSF4 Arcade Edition

Anyone want to go in on a four pack? Let me know. I'm ready to buy it. Once I get some guys interested I'll go ahead and purchase it and send out the invites.
 
Got a patch prompt through gfwl when I start up the game. Can't patch so I'm stuck in offline limbo, anyone else?
 
have a friend that has hori tekken 6 stick. He thought the patch would make his stick work, but it still doesn't work. Anyone with this stick get it to work?

Probably not since you still can't map to POV hat switch. You'll need to use external software like joy2key or something the like.

Well, I'm an idiot. The game recognized the stick and I mapped the buttons, but the stick itself wasn't working. Then I pressed what I always thought it was the turbo button (there's a light that clearly says turbo when you press it) and somehow the stick started to work. It must be a switch that swaps between POV and something else....

Anyways, I'm happy! :)
 
I wonder if there is a way to skip the intro screens when the game boots. Namely the Capcom and Cri...something screens. There is a "movie" folder in the SF directory you can rename the folders "nvidia" and "opening" to anything you want and it will skip those. I just cant get it to skip the Capcom screen. Any guess?

EDIT: Tonight it seemed like every other match was a Juri player with spattering of Adon. Adon just destroys me. I have no idea how to handle him. It pretty much just starts with the jag kick, then he is in and you have to guess between throw, combo, or jag tooth ( I think that is the name ) I have no clue. I guess wrong every time...
 
Damn it, this is so frustrating...

I get an A on really great settings. I also get an A on the lowest settings possible, but even after the patch, I still can't enjoy the game.

Random freezes on menus, VS screen freezing when showing what stage then going really fast with the flames on the background moving around like crazy. FPS is great to a point with shitty hiccups every 5 seconds.

Nothing running on the background, system is in top shape.

What am I doing wrong?

Only clocked in 30 minutes since the game came out because of this. I was really looking forward to playing this on my favorite platform... /sniff

And to think I was freaking out about the DRM...

It's better now but still not perfect, detected all the buttons except the directional stick on my VSHG. So still have to use the external program x360ce to get it to work.
 
Hurray! My first stage mod. It's ass but hey, I started learning this stuff last night....

Did you buy it off Steam?

Also I googled "SF4 stutter PC" and it came back with a couple of different results. One guy had a program running in the background that was causing lag the others were of the "update directx and video card driver" variety.

Is this the only game that stutters on your machine? I have the same issue with Black Ops..every other game runs fine but that piece of fecal matter.. so I feel your pain.

Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Location

EDIT: Note - I am pretty sure it prioritizes your opponents to match your location. So, if you set Canada, it will try find people in Canada first.

...And here I was thinking it was some silly GFWL error.
 
AE always defaults to my keyboard for controls. Every time I launch the game I have to go to the options and set it to my joystick ( TE PS3 version ). Anyone else having this problem?

I think is because you're using a ps3 stick.

I don't have that same issue given that i have a 360 one. It is a GFWL game.
 
It starts off with keyboard/360 controls (I have to mash Spacebar), but gives my PS3 SE control once I sign into Live.

They apparently don't want it. They're probably afraid if we give them too much it will give them a reason to make a PC port of Street Fighter x Tekken.

I seen somewhere that its going to be released the 28th, no idea if its official.

If you are desperate you can still buy the pack from the Microsoft marketplace and go in game, load the steam store, then exit and they should work.

I would just wait though
 
Steam DLC News for Arcade Edition PC

We called out in an earlier post that the Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition PC costumes would be available over the weekend to all Steam users. The DLC files have all been delivered to Steam, and we are awaiting final approval of these files before we release the DLC to all those who have been waiting to purchase the costumes. We apologize for the delay, and will let you know as soon as the Steam Store goes live with the costumes.

So uh, I created an event for the GAF AE Group. July 28, 6:30PM PST! PRE-EVO PARTY!

Anyone wanna confirm/deny that they are attending this? I'll try to stream it if people can't get into the game but still wanna see stuff.
 
Can anyone help me out?

I'm having an issue where after about 30mins of play, my system slows to a crawl, and AE becomes unplayable even in training mode. No other game does this, and I have it at comfortable settings that produce a smooth frame rate the rest of the time. I've tried Googling to no avail, so any advice would be appreciated.

Other than that, I am loving this. Steam owns my balls, and AE on PC is by far the best online Street Fighter experience I've ever had. Perhaps playing in Japan helps, as everywhere has decent internet, but it's just amazing. Green bars all over the place and lag is virtually unnoticable; just like playing locally.

My Steam name is Bobio and my GFWL tag is BGenius if anyone would like some games some time :)
 
Think im FINALLY gonna be able to get this later this week/next week

there's an issue though, ive got 2 friends in the same region as me for the fourpack and the game isnt available here. So if anyone from the US/A region where its available still havent got it and wanna help me out with hosting shoot me a pm. I know probably everyone here already has it, gonna ask on the steam thread when i get the money though.
 
Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition for the PC has got to be one of the most sloppiest and laziest ports of this year. Capcom broken the "if it isn't broken, do not fix it" rule, resulting in a game that got so many SHOW STOPPER bugs it's unbelievable - even after their patch that came out a couple of weeks after release! I know so many people that returned their game back to the retailers because it either didn't work or is non-operational. Even I had to do some jiggery pokery just to get my hori stick working on the machine but I am unable to play 2 players if my friend brings his joystick. What a flipping joke! Capcom has no excuses with this version when Street Fighter 4 generally worked without hiccups.

Oh btw, I told Capcom all this and much more on their official forums. Unfortunately, they haven't replied back to me yet and I bet they won't because this game on the PC makes small margins for them. Damn them. Acknowledgement would have been appreciated.

Make sure to read all that's associated with any particular. Usually the authors post anything unusual associated with the mod that might do something to your game client.
 
So, just asking, where can I find the patch that came out ? I bought a copy from Zavvi and of course, those damn characters are locked.

What's worse : I am logged in Games for Windows Live but the game doesn't seem to see me logged in, it keeps asking me to log in again and when I do so, Windows Live says that some update cannot be completed. Total ass.
