Captain America: Civil War |OT| Finding Zemo

To be fair, people debated putting Zemo in the title for the exact reason that he wasn't shown in the promo material much, even if title is a meta joke about that.

It shouldn't be surprising that someone actually would get upset by it.

It's going to be a minority due to Zemo being lesser known but it was bound to happen.

I figured it'd happen. Let them complain, go tell a mod and move on with their lives with the quickness..

Rule of thumb, never choose 3D if you can help it, and if 2D Imax is available and you pick anything else, you're doing it wrong!

Eh, I'm still looking for IMAX impressions as I don't know if I could justify more $ for 15 mins of a single IMAX scene. Who am I kidding I'm gonna splurge as you all are making it sound like this film is going to change the world.

IMO Zemo being in the title doesn't even necessarily confirm if he's in the movie

I mean, it kinda does. And even if there is doubt, anyone who sees that will go to the movie thinking about Zemo subconsiously and whenever they see see a mysterious or sly man who may have a dark agenda, they are going to think about Zemo.

Not arguing about spoilers and if they ruin experiences, just pointing out that it is kinda silly to think that people shouldn't assume he is in it because of the title when if that was the point, why not just not have him in the title? What is the joke then if he isn't in it, if the joke is because we haven't seen much of him?

Damn, just came back from seeing this and holy fuck its definitely a top tier Marvel movie along with Winter Soldier. Marvel are lucky to have the Russos. Fuck, so many great moments. Its exciting and emotional. Can't wait for them to tackle Infinity War.

Marvel's Captain America: Winter Soldier openly told people months in advance who the Winter Soldier was.

If you followed the press tour stuff, yeah. If you were a regular joe just watching the trailers, it wasn't totally blatantly out there, but you could connect the dots if you felt so inclined. Only the last trailer with the preview clip of the Tanker mission in the first half had a shot of Bucky's face unmasked.

Even the filmmakers and Feige conceded that even if filmgoers knew beforehand, the real impact was for Steve within the film, because it wasn't like he could watch the trailers or wikipedia the original comic and find out beforehand that the Winter Soldier was Bucky.

... Imagine if the people in the MCU could google-search themselves and read their comic histories.

Ultimately, I feel like the thread title works, both as a fun pun for the first OT (I'm anticipating a second OT with a much better subtitle, frankly >_>) and as it relates to the film.

Cap probably can. ;)

I'm anticipating Falcon digging up all the issues with Bucky as the young ward, and all the tumblr fanfic, and printing it out to mess with Barnes on downtimes between missions.

Just a shot of Barnes opening the first page, going "AAAUGH" as he covers his eyes, and Falcon jumping out the window, going "BRAVO LOCK!!"

"CUT THE CHECK" works too.

That isn't what I'm arguing about at all. I'm not arguing about whether or not that should be the title. In fact, what you are saying helps prove my point. If people know he is gonna be in it, saying that the title doesn't even imply that the character is in it is some of the most contradicting thing. That would be like putting Bucky in the title and saying" well you don't know if he is in it! Could be a joke! (even though you freaking know it is not)".

You can't say, "C'mon everyone knows he is in it, get out of here with your fear of spoilers" and then argue that you don't even know that the character is in it. like what? you can't have it both ways. is it public knowledge or isn't it?

Just got back from seeing it and what a fantastic film. The Russo Brothers absolutely delivered on this. Spiderman is an absolute delight in this.

Who the hell is Bucky?

Waiting for the post-credits.

This movie isn't just a fantastic movie, it is an apology for the woefully, atrociously mishandled comic.

Will write more later when I get home.

An underemined amount of hours for me! Silly me, my fiance and I scheduled our bridal shower next weekend (I gotta help, then hide in the basement while the girls do there thing). Gotta wait until at least the Monday after NA release.

Is it one or two post-credits scenes? I've seen people reporting different things in this thread.

Hm, don't think I'm particularly fond of the material in that soundtrack preview suite.

Felt like I was listening to Brian Tyler again, not Henry Jackman, and it's not necessarily because the TWS theme got dropped either. Something about the music does not immediately stick, whereas I instantly fell in love with the music of the previous two films.

Damn, it doesn't play today where I live and I head home for my dad's bday tomorrow.

I'll have to skip the end of his party on Saturday night and watch this with my bro. This is going to be hyyype. But I want to see in NOW :I.

sneak out and pull a Ferris Bueller with a dummy pretending to be you sleeping if she happens to come down and check on you while you watch it in the theater.

Just came back, and it is now 3am.

Fun movie. Better than TWS for me.

Spidey was amazing. Aunt May is a breath of fresh air from past spidey movies.

How tolerable it is in 3D? I really hate seeing post 3D effect movies, especially if there's a 2D showing, but it looks like my theatre is scumbagging and forcing everyone to buy glasses.

I just finished it. damn, I need to watch the movie again. They are not exaggerating when they say the airport fight is the best cbm fight scene ever.
