Can't tell if that's a joke review. Especially with the quicksilver mention

But yeeesss. More melodrama. It's part of why I prefer xmen movies over mcu stuff any day.

I need my soap opera drama between these guys

Oh I'm fine with melodrama. I just threw words together since there aren't enough reviews for me to obsess over.

I wonder if Marvel had an NDA thing where only approved reviews could go up. I'm noticing the new reviews sort of tuckered out. It could just be that most are holding their review until release. It's still a million days away.

I'm pretty sure the embargo was unilateral.

More screenings are going to happen over the next two weeks and it's not going to be released until three weeks from now.

The delay in reviews makes sense.

Mostly the latter. A lot of publications don't see the point in getting their reviews up right now, especially more mainstream outlets, like the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, etc. (I haven't actually checked if they already published their reviews, although I haven't seen them here or on RT).

Could just be it's really early for some of them. Reviews are definitely trickling out slower than usual

Prolly will get the bulk of them over the next few weeks

I'm surprised reviewers aren't mentioning the Howard the Duck short that aired before the movie, it was easily superior to anything Civil War had.

Please, for the people seeing it tomorrow.

PLEASE DISCUSS SPOILERS IN THE SPOILERS THREAD!!!

I don't want none of this

I'm sad because
THIS IS BULLSHIT! I HATE THIS KINDA OF STUFF!

I don't think so. Saw a few sites on Twitter saying they'd have theirs up Thursday or Friday. It's possible not everyone saw it at the early screening last week

Steve opts for suicide instead of fighting Bucky. I wouldn't call it high art but I dunno, I thought there was some emotional depth.

I'm waiting for that one negative review on RT so I can defend Marvel's honor.

I get 5 dollars per paragraph.

So the big rumor is that we get the first appearance of
Giant-Man
in this one, right?

That's gonna be a tough one to explain to my father.

You missed it. Watch it again.

Seriously, though, I love the character moments of Winter Soldier so much. How Cap and Black Widow's friendship evolves, how Sam and Steve bond, Steve's moral dilemma of knowing he has to face his best friend to save others...

It's got a surprising amount of emotional weight for me. It's the small, intimate moments - characters just having breakfast, Black Widow poking fun at Steve's kissing, the flashback to the day Steve's mother died, the "on your left" reprisal - that just really cements Winter Soldier as my favorite Marvel movie.

It's very character-driven, even with the bombastic stakes of the finale. For Cap, so much of the film is personal.

Cap ruminating of a life not lived with Peggy. Who herself, has become old and developed dementia. I mean, it's not focal to the story but it is heart wrenching, especially if you've ever known someone suffering from Alzheimer's.

Children across the country will forever answer the question "What caused the civil war" with "Captain did some shit Iron man didn't like".

Reminded me of some dude in college that was trying to be slick.

"What was Abraham Lincoln known for?"

"Being a Vampire Hunter at night."

Yeah, the teacher wasn't amused and he was the only one laughing.

"And that, children, is the story of how the South attempted to merge the MCU with actual history in order to work with their perverted ideals"
