I don't blame people for seeing the movie and hyping the everlasting fucking shit out of the scene.

But having to wait like 4 weeks after the initial screenings because the U.S. public had to wait longer than most-- and thinking about how awesome it could be every day after being told that it's the greatest action sequence ever in a superhero movie-- is probably not healthy.

It may be that good, but the difference is that the people who saw it earlier didn't go in with nearly a month of extreme hype.

Fucking this. This a thousand times. Bunch of jerkoffs with blogs (sorry, professional reviewers) talking about how awesome this thing is that you'll get to see in a month.

In the age of Twitter and near instantaneous information sharing, the old paradigm of a long release schedule with an ample buffer time between press screenings and the wide release needs to be rethought. Should be one week, two max. Not three. Sure as fuck not four. Regardless of whether or not early screenings have been around forever, the effect is a lot different today than it was even a few years ago.

Y'all need to learn to distance yourselves from your hype. Mine was hottest when that TV spot clip of Spidey dropped, but now it's burned down to coals. It's keeping me warm but it's not all-consuming.

Of course, this also got me to finally sit down and start drawing a big Spider-Man poster like I've wanted to do for ages, so... maybe that's where it's all being channeled.

Use the hype to go do something constructive!

I'm pretty sure its impossible to over-hype the airport scene

but it looks so bland and dull and featureless and stupid with the two groups running at each other on a boring runway....

Also, is BLACKLAC going to post one of those every time the review count is increased?

look what you did brandonh83, you got Jack started up again

I can relate to his anger. I mean, I'm not mad, but I think it sucks. If that airport sequence is that incredible, going into it without this much hype would have been like, something else.

I guess I'm kind of mad.

All this really sounds like is you putting too much emotional investment in a movie, lol.

If this Jack Remington thing has been a sort of running joke in the thread-- I've not been around much because I've been trying to deflate my hype-- then I'm sorry, but I'm right there with him in this regard.

I feel sorry for DC fans. Marvel continues to hit it out of the park with its movies. They made an Ant-Man movie and one with a talking raccoon in it for chrissake, but DC can’t even get Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to work well in a movie together.

Now, where do I collect my Marvel shill cheque?

Jack have you thought of you know maybe...finding something else to do til the movie comes out?

Not spending times on message boards?

I mean

Before I saw the film, I was having trouble with my hype.

God this sounds like a drug confessional.

But it's weird, you know, hype is a strange thing to bring to a movie. I think in the end, I accepted that these films, for all the posturing about Cinematic Universes or whatnot, they're big projects made by people who are fallible, it won't be perfect because perfection is such a far-off ideal, so I'll accept what the film before me brings and come to my conclusions after watching it. It didn't totally defuse the hype, but it definitely brought it down to reasonable levels.

You have yet to go on a multi-page tear that culminates in you reading all the spoilers cause your hype is reset to zero, so you're not quite right there with him.

If we didn't have to wait another month after a lot of people got to see it and hyped everything about it to the moon, we'd likely not be here complaining about how much longer we had to wait when the movie was done and they're already doing screenings everywhere. And opening in other countries before America. And it's still another week away-- which isn't far, but I personally will have to wait until after the weekend to see it.

I'm not pounding my keyboard, but I think it sucks and I get why Jack's pissed about it.

Okay, look-- I'll stop right here lol

NO RELEASE DATE COMPLAINING BELOW THE DOTTED LINE

I understand.

I guess i'm just not hyped to death.

also shut up Bronson. You clown.

I mean I guess I get that.

The moment that everyone shows up at the airport, whether it lives up to the hype or not, I'm gonna straighten up in my seat and expect something great to happen.

If I had no idea. To just be sitting there and suddenly "HOLY FUCKING SHIT" that would have been awesome. but the only people that happened too is early screeners. And it would have happened whether it was a month or a day in advance. Even our international friends had that hyped up for them.

The only way to avoid hearing how good that scene is, is to not read any impressions, and definitely don't spend time on a message board dedicated to the movie. I stand by my decision.

The irony is that my friends, who dont care nearly as much as me. Will have that "HOLY FUCKING SHIT" moment because they don't spent their days on message boards. All they know is that reviews are great and they are excited.

The airport scene was great but I think there have been other great superhero fight scenes as well in other films. So don't hype yourself too much or you'll be disappointed.

The movie's mvp is
Falcon

Fact.

Hold up, hold up.

Are you seriously going to put
Falcon
up there over
Scarlet Witch
, who if it wasn't for them then
two of the combatants on the airport would have been incapacitated (Hawkguy) or killed (Bucky), and she was the last member of TeamCap that helped Cap and Bucky get to that Quinjet
!? Come on!

IMO I could've seen Civil War a year later knowing everything that happens in it and I'd still pop for a good portion of it

It's not as..savage as Winter Soldier, but it's way more of a crowd pleaser, that's for sure

You son of a bitch, I'll clown you on the basketball court
