"You had batman, superman, and wonder woman occupying the same space"

You're right it was a gamechanger, it showed that you can't sell a movie with just the characters without making it good.

Edit-YO HE HAS A SPIDERMAN STICKER ON HIS MIRROR

Not true. My inside source tells me that Marvel paid all the critics, but 3 of them felt it wasn't enough.

so can Marvel sue those 3 reviewer for not keeping up their end of the bargain? they took their money and ran with it, negative review give them even more click for more money. how scummy are they.

Marvel paid a handful of critics to get Civil War negative reviews to keep things from being totally obvious. If you are going to successfully cheat at cards you can't win every hand.

Or WB paid more than Marvel the handful of critics to get Civil War negative reviews, but it was all a master plan by Marvel, by paying a paltry sum to these critics, in order to make it not obvious while making WB lose money.

Now we know why the critical consensus sucked, they were saving all the rotten reviews until right before the U.S. opening as payback for the arrogantly early raising of the review embargo.

Hail HYDRA.

All this cat DOES is look away. Why the fuck does he never look at the camera? Why is there always something loud blasting in the background? Why? WHY??

Sigh, I need to watch Black Dynamite.

How can you hate on Zootopia? I don't get it

Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and write a piece for the clickbait.

He ALWAYS looks at the exact same place relative to the camera. It bothers me to no end, I often watch his videos and not even listen to the garbage that he ejects from his mouth and just wonder what he's looking at. Sometimes I fantasize that it's his imaginary friend he's talking to. Sometimes I think it's a mirror he carries around.

Apparently the 4th also hated Room, Zootopia, and Deadpool.

He can fuck off hating Room.

I was curious about the Zootopia review, so I looked it up - I remember reading it when it was first posted. I make it a point to read outlier reviews, as often they do have some interesting insights, even if I often end up disagreeing with them.

That was not an example of one. It's one of the most badly written reviews I've ever read.

Of course, the Mouse House’s grasp-exceeding reach is well proven by now. Asserting that they traffic in naive fantasy is like saying Baskin & Robbins cashes in on gluttony, but in trying to be true both to messy, complicated life and the Nine Old Men‘s storytelling shorthands, these Revival features incubate their own hypocrisies.
This starts a train of thought that he forgets to finish. It felt like someone was trying to emulate Armond White, while not being nearly as fluent in the language of film, or as good a writer, or taking nearly as much joy in being a troll.

FutureXmDCcomics is the best thing about BvS

Nah, the RT thread holds that title.

FutureXmDComics is a sad product of years of social isolation spent reading DC comics, investing heavily in the Marvel vs DC rivalry that bled out into the streets and onto their readerbase. The man is 41 and all he has going for him is his fandom for the DC Comics. After years being forced to see how the company he hates rose to become the powerhouse Marvel now is, DC finally came out with it's chance to shine and they blew it. Now, he needs to grasp at straws to continuously defend his fandom and justify his choice for DC. Youtube has provided him with a platform to do so publicly, uncontrolled and together with a bunch of dummy accounts, he spends his afternoons screaming "MARVEL SUCKS DC ROOLZ!" at his computerscreen.

It's fucking pathetic.

When there are movies that are universally beloved and you get that one negative review, it's always interested to see their review history. There's always some crazy shit in there.

I know opinions are opinions but sometimes it's, like, yikes.

Also, that Deborah Ross person has disliked every single Marvel movie she has reviewed. Why does she keep watching them if she knows she hates them? It's like IGN making the guy who hates Football review Madden each year.

[edit]

Rotten:

Spotlight
The Revenant
The Danish Girl
Carol
Age of Ultron
Birdman
Interstellar
Fury
Gone Girl
Avengers 1
Godzilla
The Wolf of Wall Street

because marvel movies aren't a genre. they're a subset of action films. i dunno who she is but if she explicitly gives every action film a negative review then it would be redundant for her to review blockbusters. but i doubt that's the case.

edit: but forreal there are definitely people out there who have seen how these comic book fanbases obsess over RT and negative reviews and hey...the clicks pay their bills.

You be the judge.

Skimming through all 3 pages real quick, the only movie that's an action blockbuster and that she liked was Skyfall.

Even her reviews makes it pretty clear that she couldn't care any less about the action.

The action — must we? I suppose so — opens not in Tuscany, where the Avengers are quietly enjoying one of those holidays where you learn to make pasta, which would at least make a change. Instead, it’s business as usual when their operation to stop the theft of a biological weapon in Lagos goes explosively wrong leaving dozens of civilian casualties and themselves under scrutiny. It may be that I’m misremembering, but were there any civilian casualties in the past 896 films? Didn’t whole cities go up without anyone even wandering around dazed with a nosebleed? But the plot needs what the plot needs so now the Avengers have always blown up innocent people, which leads to 100 nations gathering together and saying: this must stop. And: you must all be brought under the control of the UN.

I only attended this one because I had read the American critics (and some of the British ones who’d had a heads up). They all said, at last, a decent Avengers movie with ‘emotional depth’ and ‘moral complexity’, and now I have to question what planet they’re living on. Seriously, if this is ‘emotional depth’ and ‘moral complexity’ then my old cat Daphne can play the ukulele, which clearly she cannot.

And action movie fan she is not.
