I lol'd at "hand-scooped." Who the hell is that trying to appeal to?

THe best are ice cream between two waffles . After that is ice cream between 2 fresh baked cookies.

any time i'm in seaside or alantic city I get them. I get the cookies in disney

Trying to appeal to the stoner crowd even further maybe? Have you seen their new t-shirts?

The problem I have is I like my poptarts toasted, a warm poptart with the ice cream is what I'm talking out.

I'm sure I'll try one next time I'm there.

This is supposedly now out nationwide.

Apparently, there was so much buzz surrounding Carl's Jr.'s test of a strawberry Pop-Tarts ice cream sandwich back in April that they decided to release it nationally.

Carl's Jr. is also offering a limited-time deal where you can get a free Strawberry Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwich with the purchase of a Super Bacon Cheeseburger combo at participating Carl’s Jr. restaurants.

This sounds like a parody of something.

Oh boy that actually sounds good. Adds ice cream and pop tarts to shopping list for weekend. That picture though is not a good one. If it didn't say I'd almost think that was a pop-tart mashed potato sandwich.

For promotional food photos, ice cream is often substituted with mashed potatoes. This is because due to the lighting fixtures, ice cream melts quite quickly and is difficult to work with.

I'm on a pretty strict diet now, and while I enjoy the benefits of the weight loss and feeling better in general, all these unhealthy fast food threads are making me kinda sad.

So you get your Super combo, eat that, then have a melty, lukewarm poptart sandwich to look forward to?

Nah, when I last went to Carl's Jr. and they were doing this promotion with the chocolate chip cookie icecream sandwich, they gave you a coupon for the ice cream so you could redeem it later. I imagine they're doing the same thing here.

Doesn't look very compelling.

I'm all for these weird mashups and heart attack inducing combos when they are interesting and have the probability of tasting good(KFC double down, Krispy kream burger, etc), this just looks kinda lazy.

Doesn't seem like a bad price for what it is, but it doesn't seem too appetizing, either.
The whole thing will just be kinda mushy, unlike an ice cream and cookie sandwich.

I'm alarmed at the number of people who think that this is two Pop-Tarts instead of just one cut in half, especially since they show the inner filling so it's clearly been cut in half.

I have a friend that used to always toast two waffles, and put peanut butter between them to make a sandwich....good stoner food I suppose.

Waffles would be better than pop tarts.

Toasters Strudels would shut this bullshit down completely.

I've done that (open-face though, too much bread otherwise). Another good treat is two waffles with honey and chicken strips in the middle.

Doesn't surprise me one bit and it makes sense. Certainly would explain why that looks like mashed potatoes then. It's so weird the things they do to photograph food. Watched a thing once about some of the stuff and it was just weird some of the stuff they'd do.

You guys know that just means scooped out of a bucket, not squeezed out of a machine, right?
Like, there is no actual ice cream handshake going on here.

People are questioning what exactly the crossover is in appealing between people who lean towards the homeliness of something hand done... and people who'd be into pop tart icecream sandwiches.

In this case, since the ice cream is part of the actual product, the ice cream in the photo would have to be the actual article. It's usually in the case of something like cereal promotional photos where the milk isn't actually milk.
