Drawing out the tension to the last episode blow-out is gonna be the challenge.

I love Flanagan so it's a no-brainer. Wish he chose something else out of King's catalogue to adapt though. (Dark Tower, come onnnnn)

It's a rare case where I'd love to see a mostly faithful adaptation for the first 3-4 books, and then go off-script for the rest. I don't know what King was thinking with those last few
Haven't read The Talisman yet. Worth it, then? I find books of that size daunting these days.

Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House are GOAT series.
I do hope and am cautiously optimistic that Flanagan's version of Carrie has a unique spin on the material because it's a story that's been told multiple times now.

Haunting of Hill House was so boring that I had to quit half-way through. The acting was also pretty bad, let's not even talk about the 'umm...ehmm..yeah...mmmm...'-dad. Midnight Mass was good for maybe half the series, but then it just crumbled and became a chore to watch.
I think he's maybe one of the better ones when it comes to TV horror, but that doesn't say much.

It isn't even such an interesting or expansive story that it demands constant reinterpretation. The 1976 film is still good and holds up well, while every other adaptation has been forgettable. Funnily enough, none have wowed commercially either, which makes me wonder how this was even greenlit in the first place.
The Talisman is AMAZING. As a youth it was one of my most favorite books. Male coming of age story and Straub has a complexity to balance out King. Flanigan is very hit or miss for me. I loved Doctor Sleep, Oculus, The Haunting of Hill House and The Midnight Club. The rest not so much. I hope this show ends up good since I've always loved King. I'm curious on what he can do with The Mist and The Exorcist. As for The Dark Tower, I think that series works best as a Prestige Show. If he's able to get that project off the ground, I hope it's great
