After SU(aka Tumblr show) not watching new cartoons anymore :/

Is any of them like PPG or Dexter's lab?

12 forever has potential, but needs to tone down the randomness and the RADICAL!!!1 factor (that voice repeating the things they shout got old super fast).

It's like a combination of star vs the forces of evil and psychonauts, but i believe the former is why it won't be picked, a shame cause it would be awesome with a bit of polish.

I specially liked the Banjo-Kazooie like thing the protagonists had going, in which the boy is required to be used as an extension for Twelve's abilities.

Also, like people already mentioned, the school bits were more interesting, specially because instead of a "Loser protagonist and his loser friend are bullied by popular dickwad" it was more like "Loser protagonist has non loser friend who is also friends with people who don't like protagonist". Adds a bit of depth to everyone.

Using tumblr as an insult, ow the edge.

Is any cartoon like PPG? why yes, but you just insulted it.

And take off the nostalgia googles, Dexter's Lab had a few good eps, but it was a horrible show massively overshadowed by it's support sub series (Justice Friends and Dail M for Monkey).

SU is ok, though I do think it panders a bit much to it's fandom, I guess you really can't help that in this day and age though. Still I do also wish there'd be more shows like PPG or Dexter, which none of these really are.

Oh. I thought it was being called Tumblr show because it had a pilot on Tumblr before it became a show or something like that. Didn't know the poster wanted to use it as an insult...thats odd.

A show like PPG would be the reboot thats happening although I thought the special for it was awful.

Can't think of any shows that are like those same styles as the 90's but I'm probably remembering with nostalgia. But I like a lot of the cartoons that are appearing now anyways.

If that Jammers pilot is as bad as you all say, then it's totally going to get picked up and given an Uncle Grandpa-level push.

With how much people are saying it is bad I want to avoid it. But with this comment I want to watch it to see if it might really be picked up. There was some other cartoon that was awful and somehow got picked up for a few episodes before bit the dust. Secret Mt. Fort Awesome? I guess there is bad but good enough to be picked up and downright awful and huge mistake

You've nailed it, I mean, honestly. It all looking like it was aping The Regular Show and Adventure Time, which are the only shows of this type I genuinely enjoy. Jammers especially looked like it was trying way too hard. Yikes.

EDIT: Saw your post above and agree with the whole "oh sooo random" comedy route being boring. It's crept its way into too many cartoons over the last 3-4 years.

Jammer's art looks like Regular Show and Hark, a Vagrant tried to have a child but rather than having that hybrid vigor, received neither's writing or intelligence.

I think SMFA got picked up because the creator had generated enough good will with the Uncle Grandpa pilot (which, believe it or not, was pretty damn well recieved back then, UG hate is recent), i guess they realized it wasn't working and shifted to UG.

Oh wow. I didn't realize that the shows came from the same person. I could definitely see the show getting picked up based on a pilot testing well. Even though I don't like UG, I have to say that I'm happy with their shift to UG because it seems a lot better than SMFA (based on what little I have seen).

Over the gardens wall seems fantastic, amazing voice acting and art style.

12 Forever was pretty good.

The rest terrible especially jammers

Lakewood Plaza Turbo for next year, please.
OK COO

12 Forever's concept is almost the same as Star vs. The Forces of Evil, so... Maybe a new concept for adventures would be good.

I wish it was possible to have a successful "What a Cartoon Show" in this day and age. My nostalgia for so many of those shorts/pilots brings back happy memories.

I know Nickelodeon tried to being it back with "Random Cartoons", but saying "tried" makes me remember with how they actually finally aired those shows.

And about the whole Uncle Grandpa conversation, I would say UG is more of a controlled chaos whereas Jammers is just unnecessary chaos (oh god, I don't even know if that makes sense). I remember when I watched the UG pilots, and they really were pretty ok. The concept was alright, but when the actual show barely has episodes that deal with what the pilots were actually doing with the weirdness, I can see where the hate can come from. I don't think any of those side characters were in any of the pilots, for example.

Twelve Forever was the best, not counting the OTGW pilot. The other two seemed out of place. Riding with Burgess was just bizarre, and Jammers was like some left-over from the 90s grossout humor in cartoons, a misfit from a world where, in the 90s, Viacom/MTV bought the rights to Cartoon Network and tried to make a kid friendly version of those sick toons, like The Brothers Grunt.

Action cartoons are (sadly) dead for the forseeable future. They are expensive to produce and the networks seem to hate them with the passion of 1000 hells.

Best bet? Pray IanJQ's pilot for Lakewood Plaza Turbo gets picked up. It's like DBZ...in a strip mall. It really is pretty good.

I hope it doesn't get picked up solely for the reason Ian does good work on Steven Universe :P

Is that Gohan's VA as K.O.? I like how they even got Piccolo up in there.

Mike Haggar as the mall owner was kind of funny though. This short was weird.

Wasn't the Adventure Time pilot originally one of those, or am I misremembering that? (Imagine the state of the industry if AT premiered on Nick instead. CN would be comatose.)

What does Nickelodeon even have cartoon wise nowadays?

I remember them having last time I checked some Jimmy Neutron spin-off (which I heard was horrible, shame because Neutron rocked), "Tuff Puppy", and a bunch of Dreamwork shows.

I think they literally only have Spongebob reruns at this point.

Do people really think UG is as bad as Jammers? UG is funny in a animaniacs kinda zanny way, jammers is just pure nonsense that's trying to be both gross and random.

Nah. It definitely went for that "lol so random" crowd, but the characters were somewhat charming despite it.

If we want a true example of just how low CN is willing to stoop, look no further than Problem Solverz. If a show like that can be greenlit, Jammers will have little difficulty. CN simply doesn't know their audience.

How can SU pander to its fandom when all of the episodes are made roughly a year in advance.
