Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Final Boxart

I feel like this game is being released into the wild to die. I liked Lords of Shadow, but i feel no hype or excitement for this game. Its a shame. Makes me wonder what the next Silent Hill game will be like.

Not bad. I liked that concept art that had the wolf in it as well, think Gabriel's back was facing the cover or sown thing that.

Still, it's better than the first.

Ah, no CG renders like the first game boxart. That's a plus in my book.

Edit:

Plus I did like the PC version of the boxart much better than the console version.

Mirrors of Fate was kinda a downgrade. Cluttered.

It'll look beautiful next to my LE of Lords of Shadow.

Just hoping Konami comes out with another limited edition for the U.S. with a physical soundtrack, although it seems unlikely at this point. I need more Oscar Araujo in my driving life and the miniatures/massive box don't interest me (the art book is nice though).

Probably won't see a soundtrack bundled with the US launch, but we are working on making the soundtrack available sometime around launch.

Good to hear, love what you guys are doing with the franchise. I actually bought LoS prior to owning a PS3 just to reward the love Castlevania was getting and it didn't disappoint one bit.

Kudos for reviving this franchise. LoS was absolutely magnificient. A bit bummed out that we're only seeing 2 parts in the saga (a trilogy would of been awesome), but great stuff nonetheless.

But it is a trilogy. I think you're forgetting about Mirror of Fate, which Mercurysteam counts as part II.

And don't count out the franchise just yet, Dave Cox has commented several times that it may continue, it just won't continue with him/Mercurysteam.

To be honest I am worried about that, after all MercurySteam is finishing the story with Lords of Shadow 2, so I am afraid more of Lords of Shadow may dilute it.

I love Lords of Shadow, and whoever makes the next 3D Castlevania, I hope they follow a similar way to MercurySteam when it comes to story.

Ah, completely forgot about that. Just saw that it was available on consoles now as well. Definitely need to check that one out before LoS 2 hits.

there was talk about mirror of fate HD also coming to pc
is there any chance of this happening before the release of LoS2, or am I better off simply buying the console version?

I really like that art a lot.

Man, I wish I could play that demo but you either need to purchase one of the two games that it comes with. Why don't they just have the demo available for download on XBL?

This one is supposed to be more open world.

That's good to hear. I do like the linear structure of the first game too but I just prefer it this way. Honestly my whole reason for wanting it to be more open is because I just replayed Soul Reaver and I think the structure of that game would work incredibly well for a 3D Castlevania game.

it's the upper body of a Badass Dude

it's pretty generic

not bad, it's nice that it's not a render and blue/orange, but it's still basically a typical video game boxart

Pls don't be the back of a character

Relief. Looks good

So why can't Konami count? If Part 2 is part 3? :P

Just want to mention how psyched I am that we're seeing a Lords of Shadow 2, and that it looks so grand.

My first CV was Simon's Quest back in like 1989, and I would easily rank LoS in the upper echelon of the franchise--best of the 3D games without a doubt, and the only game in the series with a story to speak of.

Bravo, Mercury Steam. I had written the series off as past it's prime after endless SotN-alikes and being relegated to 2nd tier platforms for so long. This, though, this feels like it has blood circulating within.

Pretty excited for this. The first game was pretty decent, and this looks to improve upon it from a gameplay standpoint... I am kind of worried about the modern day setting being uncastlevanialike though.

Not if the modern setting is gothic enough. The Crow took place in modern times but with that kind of dark, gothic architecture, you could easily see how this would make its place. However, the mechs - not the Titan in the demo but the MGS types of mechs and mechanized soldiers - may seem a bit out of place.

I was so excited for this back in September, I'd played through LoS1 and Mirror of Fate again, and was hyped for LoS2, and then it was delayed :(

Now I've lost my hype, it's been too long, and next gen is here now. I still have my old consoles, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get excited about buying 360/PS3 games anymore. I just wish this and Dark Souls 2 were also coming to next gen.

Not to mention there's no solid release date for Australia yet. If it comes out at a good time where there are no next gen games out though, hopefully I can find time for it. But it's looking like Feb / March which is already crazy with Thief, TitanFall, Infamous, MGS V etc, so I'm not liking it's chances.

Incredibly excited for this game. Loved the first one, and from the trailers, it seems Mercurysteam made it even better.
Nice to see a cover that doesn't do that blue/orange contrast. will make it stand out even more.
