Changing gaming allegiances

I wish GAF had a lot less fanboys in it.

If you use the ignore function, GAF does have fewer fanboys. I think I have over 60% of GAF on ignore. I can usually zip through a thread in about 30 seconds.

How can you tell what people are talking about if the people they are talking too are on your ignore list?

If they're on my ignore list, I'm really not interested in what they have to say, and I can usually suss out the gist of the conversation from the replies I do read. Again, it just saves a lot of time, and a lot of real-life eye-rolling.

The church of meeble is always looking for avid supporters of fun gaming.

Do you have it in you? Will you be one of us?

Frankly, you're a fool. Most fanboys either write one-liners, which take no time at all to skip over, or ridiculously passionate tirades so long-winded and verbose that you can spot them a mile away.

The people that puzzle me are those that post in such a way that would warrant a salary. The sales numbers guys. Where do they find the time? That's not an insult at all.

I support the fanboy draft. Of course, joke accounts would be disqualified.

I was kinda trying to leave it to the poster that thought of it. I guess it should be a new thread but there should be some rules.

I figured first wait a few days and let people post if they want to be in it to get names. And then I thought everyone vote for the initial 3 captains. Then from there hold drafts once a day till everyones picked.

Didn't know if it you all wanted to lay ground rules or not. Like no taking it to the extremes, how long does it last, how many strikes or how do you determine if someone is not playing along?

Oh, lighten up. I was joking.

*vindicated* <3

At any rate.. in addition to what I said, I have tried to ignore people, and maybe it's just me, but it just makes me intensely curious when I see "This message is hidden because [user] is on ignore. View message?" And I'm like, errgh, blast! Foiled again! <click>

While i'm sure most of the people on here are reasonable indivduals who would hardly scorn other systems at the expense of mising out on great games, I say, if we did do a console draft, that we do away with multi-responses. You have to pick your absolute favorite. Makes things more interesting, IMO.

Any "real" gamer would own all 3 (relevant) consoles. The rest of you are just posers trying to qualify your purchase :p

A "real" gamer would be so stuck on mastering a single game that they'd never buy more than a single console...

Luckily, I'm not a "real" gamer.

The ADULT thing to do is not be biased to one particular console >_>
or against. That is actually where most of the problems come from... the bias against. I don't think anyone cares about the bias for (at least most don't). It's the bias against that is constantly the problem on forums.

Not enough people laughing here imo.
It's the best joke thread in a fucking while, GAF is losing it's sense of humor?

Alright, someone else has a sense of humor. I was really trying to be funny and talk some truth at the same time. I am pissed a M$ and am looking at my other options; but that Fanboy draft sounds fun as hell.

Alright screw it, no one else is taking the initiative I will start a thread for the fanboy draft and just lay down some basic rules for now and get people to post if they are interested or not.

I would go Property of Platform Agnostic for the next year or so, and wait for things to shake out. Once the winning team emerges you can then hop aboard the bandwagon. Unless you want to root for the underdog and then you can latch your support to the second place team.

who would get first pick? if you go console sales only, then it'd be Nintendo (last place gets first pick), but if you include handhelds, that'd handicap MS.

If you want to keep score, use the combined user ratings for each team. If someone trolls too much and gets banned, that's like 2 minutes in the penalty box, ie - they can't help contribute.

E3 would be the finals, since so many posters end up going over the edge and get banned.
