Cheap Ass GAF'er (Euro Gaming Edition)

The "only" charged me £3.50 for shipping, which is a lot compared to the £1 blahdvd charges, but then again it's not next day delivery with them.

So it seems that the courier request just got ignored and I was billed for regular shipping.

I'm gonna wait till the 21 days are over and then fill in the forms to get a new copy sent as well as send them another mail I think.

Very annoying though. I was lucky enough to play my friends game for 2 days and got up to the ice caves, but I would love to finally continue where I left of.

Still haven't received my own copy of Uncharted 2 from Shopt0. >:(
Ordered it the day before it came out (thursday) along with a copy for a friend.
One copy arrived the monday after, but the second one still hasn't arrived and it's now 2 weeks later.

On the site they say that you can claim a package as lost after 10 working days, but when I emailed them I got the response (after 3 days) that I had to wait 21 working days to fill in a form and in their words "This form needs to be
submitted, printed, signed and returned to us via e-mail, fax or post."

Very nice customer service.
When the same thing happened with play a couple years ago, the only thing I had to do was click on a special button to claim it as lost and a new one was sent out to me the same day.

This might very well be the last time I ever order from them.
Good to know. I'll refrain from using their services as well then. Play is really great with their big "DIDNT ARRIVE" button.

Play are pricks. Declined my account for no reason.

Can I stress again how much - especially in this time of mail uncertainty - Amazon's Prime service in the UK is a great deal? £50 a year for unlimited guaranteed next-day delivery. That's only 25 purchases a year at first class rates, and you can use it amongst numerous people - my whole family use it for all our orders through my account, with deliveries to 4 different addresses. It's saved so much over the last couple of years.

EDIT: Plus, there's a months free trial currently being offered, especially handy with Christmas coming up... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/subs/primeclub/signup/main.html

Despite Gamestations "We Wont Be Beaten on Trade ins" promise plastered all over they could not match CEX in the next street. :lol

On the subject of CEX, how do you say it? Like Sex, or Cee-Eee-X or what? Awkward moments talking about this shop need to end

Seriously? We had this earlier in the thread, but they HAVE to match it. I have never had them refuse me. The only thing they can refuse is to price match you on a purchase when paying with credit or trade-ins. (I only know this as some of my friends work in a GS and have checked their policy stuff.) Naughty little fushers.

CEX give great prices but their resell prices are extortionate, mainly as they don't buy anything from suppliers - every bit of their stock is resell, even if it appears new. They are notoriously popular with the criminal element here...

C E X, i wish there was one of these in sunderland the give mad trade in prices.

CEX is a weird little shop... not so much the gaming stuff, but all the CDs, DVDs, mobile phones etc they sell.

I always sell them my mobiles when I upgrade, always get a good price for them without any of the eBay fucking about.

LoveFilm Preorder: Dead Rising 2: (360) - £25.14 (PS3 to)

Use XMAS10 code, which knocks 10% off price (code only lasts til Wednesday)
Thanks for this. I stumbled around and noticed Dark Void is also pretty cheap if anyone's interested. £26 with the code. And you get a golden jetpack!

Now I feel like I ought to pre-order every game ever from there though. And they don't charge until the order is shipped, so I think I will. £3-4 off on every game.

Added 15 games and the final discount ended up at £57. The most expensive games were £36, £37 with shipping. Which is not too shabby, about where the cheapest price typically ends up at. Average price per game is £34.3, £35.3 with shipping.

I don't feel wholly comfortable with confirming a £530 order though. :D

Guys, what the hell is that?

A friend of mine asks me if it's worth it for a 360. I don't get it. It lasts 2 years once the warranty has expired?

I'm not sure of what I'm looking at.

I am pretty sure that is 2 years from the day you purchase it so you basically get 1 year as the 1st year is covered anyway. It is only really worth it if you are worried about getting a broken drive or dropping the 360 and causing accidental damage!

You have 1 year warranty on products in UK?

No, arguably it's far longer... but to get a retailer to play ball on the "sale of goods act" isn't exactly the most enjoyable experience.

Sorry, I didn't understand a word of what you just said :o

He means that technically you have a 6 year warranty on inherent faults on products. But after 6 months (for the UK i think, Sweden has 1 year) the burden of proof is switched, which means that the consumer has to prove that the goods bought were inherently flawed. Something that isn't always very easy to do.

I see, thanks.

Amazon: Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City - £23.70 (€29,01)

...should drop further in coming weeks though

Hmm, just got it for 31,78€ from GAME (took a week to show up on my bank account, kind of scared me it hadn't gone through..), I'm not gonna cry for 3€ :lol , but yeah, it's been a week since they shipped it, and still no game in the box a week later. How are the strikes doing? (I'm across the channel).

The Brutal Legend Price Wars have another contender; GAME. £24.99 for the PS3 and Xbox360 versions.

It appears under deals and probably is the deal of the week so expect it to go up in price come the 11th.

Edit: Or £23.99 at Gameplay. Which in real terms is only ~40p cheaper (remember GAME rewards points).

Pff.. Amateurs...

Gamestations actual policy is to match AND BEAT BY A POUND. So print off the 'sell basket' list from the CEX (pronounced 'kecks' in Birmingham) website after adding all your stuff and take it in and match and beat your way to loads of credit.

Using CEXs inflated prices (or GameStop) in GS is the best way to maximise your trade price on the high-street.

They can remove this offer (and remove games from the trade 2 games + £5 for MW2 offer - hint hint) at any time though so check the flyers and boards in your store.

Media Markt (and Saturn probably) have a bargain for all Germans:

any euro dudes want to buy an almost brand new copy of tekken 6 for 360? As in, been spun in the disc tray 2 times for a total play time of less than 1 hour and has sat on a table not moving for the rest of its time from release?

If so, make me an offer/PM whatever.

not really sure how this selling shit online works but maybe we can figure something out.

I'll push it next time.

The reason I got was the fact Gamestations trade in price was a a few quid more than what they sell it at.

Best place for Modern Warfare 2?

And does anyone know if the supermarkets will be doing this cheap? i.e. how they did for Fifa.

There's a thread for this sort of stuff somewhere. And here it is now.
