Cheap Ass GAF'er (Euro Gaming Edition)

Can't say I've ever had problems ordering from Game. Ordered Alan Wake on Tuesday night after seeing the deal here, was shipped yesterday morning and I received it today and everything is new and in perfect condition. Haven't read or watched any of the bonus content or anything but it all looks very nice in person.
 
My Alan Wake LE just arrived. Pretty awesome. Bought the SC:Conviction LE last week from them for £30.

Two LE's for £50, not too bad.
 
What are the chances that Bioshock for PS3 at Play.com is the platinum version?
It's £9.99 but shows the original cover.

I've been fooled before by Play.com and their way of showing a game with the original cover but then sending the platinum version

Play do send out the re-release version some times with alerting you first. They have been doing it since the Gamecube days when they sent me a Players Choice version of The Twin Snakes... DAMN THEM!

Ok, that's good news, thanks for confirming.

I was a bit sceptical as I've been burnt by them in the pastt, but it sounds like the Alan Wake copies should be new.

Out of interest, does anyone still buy Collectors Editions day one these days? I almost got Alan Wake CE on release, but put it off. Looks like I saved myself £20. Ditto Bioshock 2 CE.

I bought it from them a few weeks ago and it was a regular copy, not a platinum.

Bought it. Need to play the first one before the 2nd, which I bought as a special edition. I have the first game on steam but I can't be bothered sitting in front of my computer...

As far as I'm aware it isn't in the Platinum range, however the new copies don't come with the sparkly cardboard slipcase like the first run copies did.
 
Zavvi have updated their 2 for £25 page with a few decent games (well two)

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PS3 or 360) & Splinter Cell Conviction (360) £25 @ Zavvi

Good if you want those two games. Regretfully, everything else seems like it could be bought cheaper elsewhere
 
Alright it appears that the comments on the previous page made me worry for nothing.
Bioshock 2 arrived today, perfectly new and sealed. Also massive props to GAME for their delivery time. Ordered on Sunday, dispatched on Monday and delivered in the Netherlands on Friday. Not bad.

Same here. Ordered GOW III there, shipped the 12th, arrived the 15th in Germany, new and sealed. I was worried I might recieve a used copy, but it went well. :)

I did just that. For euro folk, that 33€ for the two games, not bad.

Still waiting for Just Cause 2 to hit the £18 mark (I know it did on zavvi a couple of weeks ago) and Nier and RoF to hit the £13 mark. This thread has spoiled me! :lol
 
Quite angry at the moment....I was hoping Game.co.uk deals matched the in-store deals when I went to buy Alan Wake. The normal edition was £20, which I took to the desk to show and ask if they had the Limited Edition. I was told:

SA1: "Yeah but not for that price"
Me: (I didn't ask about the price, but anyway...) "Ok, how much is it?"
SA2: "I can see if we have any preowned" *Checks for preowned copies*
Me: (I didn't ask for preowned dumbass...also, what are you implying?) "How much is the Limited Edition?"
SA1: "Seventy"
Me: (The fuck?) "Seventy?"
SA1: "Yeah"
SA2: *Still checking for preowned copies*
Me: (Should I explain that it's £20 online? Should I ask why there's a £50 difference between the normal and LE? Should I get my iphone out to show him the online price in case he decides that I don't know what I'm talking about? Should I ask him to scan it through anyway on the off-chance that it's £20 and this guy doesn't know what he's on about and that it's £20 as well? Fuck it I can't be bothered with this) "Yeah I'll just go with this one then"

Also, there was a guy in the store that was buying Alone in the Dark. I thought maybe I should say something to prevent the disaster. I didn't though because Sales Assistant 2 started talking to him about Alan Wake and I thought maybe he was going to say "Yeah you don't want this... I'm just going go ahead and give you Alan Wake instead". That didn't happen, but at least he gave him the steelbook edition for the same price :/

Don't suppose anyone knows a good cheap place to buy a 12 month Xbox Live card? Preferably one where they just email you the code instead of sending you the card.

I and and some others who frequent this thread have used the site a bunch, really reliable and usually get the code to you within an hour or so. They just send you a jpeg of the scanned card.

Add "Small Jewellery Box" To your basket @ £1.29 (237/0020)

You will notice that SSFIV has been reduced to £2.01

Click "reserve"

On the next screen you will notice SSFIV has gone back upto £16.99, click reserve after entering your email.

It can work with other games and other items as well, HUKD has a huge thread on it if you want to try other variants. (The thread also has bastards buying 5 of them, complaining the games is shit, and people should buy MW2 instead - ignore that to keep your sanity)

I'd imagine so, the box art that Amazon uploaded is official since temp ones by online stores are never that detailed and it's quite clearly listed as "Rising Star Games Deadly Premonition".

Yeah, worst case scenario is that it has been delayed. I think the game is pretty much confirmed for Europe at this point.
 
Finnish GAF: Sokos Kamppi has Killzone 2 for 10€. It's the regular version, not platinum. Had to pick one for myself although I don't even have a PS3 yet.
 
On a lookout for cheapest Starcraft2 atm. 45e with shipping from shopto hmm

Also, 25e for used US Demons Souls or almost double that for new Phantom Edition EU hmm

Apparently it comes up at full price when you got to the till and pay.

Sainburys have got the new Xbox with Red Dead for £209 and staff have 15% off at the mo so if you know someone with a discount card it comes up around £178 (my missus had a few nectar vouchers) so i ended up paying £170. You can sell on Red Dead for around £30 so it ends up sub £150. Need to get a transfer cable now though.

Instead of a transfer cable, just plug in any USB connected harddrive (can be slow doesnt matter) copy all data onto it, then move all that over into new HDD. Adds extra step but saves you 20 quid.

I'd like to get VC for the collection but I already finished the game...
I think I'll keep my monies for the sequel.

A month and a half ago I ordered a set of DVDs.
So far, I still haven' t received it. Do you know what do I have to do to contact them, so they send me a replacement?
In their FAQs says I should select the order I have not received, but there's no available option to do so.


On the other hand, almost a month ago I ordered from them Gears of war 2 and Darksiders.
So far, both orders are still in "processing".
I don't know how to cancel them.

I'll try to contact them by phone tomorrow, but it really amazes me that it's so difficult to deal with this issues online.

Any help? Thanks!

Go into "My account" on the top right of the page, then select "Order History" on the left.
Click on "View details" next to the item you haven't received, the click on "I have not received my Play.com order" at the bottom of the page.

They should ship out a replacement in a matter of days.
 
Is the super duper version of The Witcher still available somewhere? Should've bought it on Steam on the summer sale but I was dumb :lol Granted, 16€ ain't that much...
