Persona 4 (PS2) - £12.69 @ Base

This was out of stock for a while, but it looks like a few stores got some more stock in. This version probably does not have the soundtrack though

Can anyone give me info on Base? Never used them before but I've been thinking about getting my little sister Persona 4 for her birthday which is on Friday. Is it likely to be here by then if I order today?

Base are the same company as 101cd, DVD.co.uk, and BlahDVD. I never had any problem with them. Got stuff within a week, and within a few days (Xmas last year). That was shipping to Ireland, so shipping to a UK address should be even quicker.

I think the worst that can happen is the delivery might be a bit slow, but they are not going to rip you off. They are a reputable company.

It probably does, I've not seen a single copy so far that doesn't have the soundtrack included. The irony is that I bought a spare copy for £40 during that price spike when it went out of stock everywhere.

Timeing is always different, depending on where you live.
But as an webshop its totally fine I used to order from them all the time until I started to use Zavvi :P.

I finally went away and bought Resonance of Fate.
I was so tempted to, but I'm sure I've seen it cheaper somewhere else before, so I've held back. It's the one 'off the radar' ultra niche game that I really wanted this year.

Multiplayer

Castle Crashers
Scott Pilgrim (not online)
Guardian of Light
Plants Vs Zombies (the new co-op stuff one XBLA is great)

Single Player

Geometry Wars 2
Limbo
Shank
Braid
Peggle
Scott Pilgrim (it is great on its own too)

Good Older stuff:

Heavy Weapon
Uno (online multiplayer is..... weird)
Marble Blast Ultra

Don't forget Microsoft have weekly Deals of the Week that could net you some cheap games too. Cheap games bought with cheap points... AWESOME!

Will points bought on Zavvi work on a Portuguese account? I kinda should get Limbo and the new 2D Castlevania…

They will.. they work in Ireland for me..

Weird one:

Choices have the Call of Duty: Black Ops - Hardened (Collectors) Edition on sale, but have the Prestige Edition photo attached.. they are selling for £49.99

Even if it is just the Hardened Edition, then it still seems to be the cheapest available online. If it is the Prestige Edition you get this weirdness.

I'm getting that vanquish itch but I don't know if I should grab black ops or preorder gears 3, both games to me are fun but have problems such as I had a good time in mw2 multi with my friends and cousins when they bought the game over, and gears online still has a chance of sucking.

Oh the pain I go through to save £5 :lol

nothing here as well. Was dispatched on 29th of September as well. Damnit
That's weird. I ordered the Zombrex edition from TheHut (essentially the same as Zavvi) and I got it in 12 days. Mainland Europe.

damn quidco60 doesn't seem to be working today :/

Same here, it applies but does nothing.
Also, is the pric3 restricted to some games? Doesn't seem to work with GT5 or COD, at least today.

PRIC3 only works on selected items or I would've canceled my GT5 pre-order from Zavvi.

We need a new discount code :(

I truly hope my Castlevania order from Zavvi arrives any day now, but I've never had any luck with them. :/
I REALLY hope so too. I actually ordered another copy locally because I wanted it soon, but the post office fucked up and gave it to my neighbour who stole it (says he doesn't have it), so I'm depending on zavvi to get it to me soon...

Great news, but not for France ? :(

You've got your own Amazon.fr

BTW The free delivery option is now indeed available. I now see:

FREE Super Saver Delivery (3-7 business days)
Standard (2-3 business days)
Priority Express (1-2 business days)

I only hope this is really 3-7 business days, and not super slow delivery like Play.com/Zavvi.com currently have. (Still waiting for a game from Zavvi that was shipped on Sep 22)

Seems like it for both codes, I had trouble using pric3 on the hut but it worked in the end for two lots of mspoints, a dvd for my grandad and a dvd of thomas the tank engine for my nephew :lol :D

If only I had the money yesterday I would have gone with the quidco60 code and 10% on some mspoints, crackdown 2 and something else.

Amazon.co.uk is about 50% cheaper though...
There is always Zavvi but you have to wait a lot longer for your games to arrive though.
But hey paying around 35 euro for a game day 1.
2 weeks delay beets paying 65 euro day 1 every time in my book.

I though Enslaved/Castlevania dropped with the recent bump :/

Great news with Amazon though. Same thing happened for Ireland last year, which was great. I've bought so many weird things trying to get a £22 order up to £25, but it is worth it, as the order would be over more due to P&P without the extra item.

Wow awesome news, from what I heard amazon.co.uk seems to be way faster than slow as fuck Zavvi, The Hut, Game and so on. I've never ordered anything from them because of their insane delivery rates to Europe but now things are definitely gonna change:D
Plus if I remember correctly they have a sweet price matching policy, haven't they?

Oh well, so is it already live? I'm buying RDR then, I've procrastinated far too long, let'see if I get it before my Castlevania order arrives, which was dispatched by The Hut almost a week ago now:/

fake edit: why does the price change from £27,99 to £28,59 when in the checkout page?*-*

WOW on the Amazon news. Makes prices about half as expensive as here in the Netherlands. Do you think they're gonna increase the base price of products now with free shipping?

A new game generally costs 35 pounds there, which is around 40 euro's. The RRP here is 65 euro's per game. In the UK prices decrease fast too, 18 pounds after a few weeks usually. When it's still 65 euro's locally it makes the gap even bigger.

I am wondering if it's gonna destroy local retail, since it's even easy for consumers to buy in the UK and resell new for twice the price in the Netherlands ;)

This is great news. I had some times I wanted to order from Amazon but the 5 pound delivery charge always made them more expensive than Zavvi/TheHut.

Definitely going to look for some nice games and BluRays

awesome news … fuck that germany, france etc. are not in amazons world of EU … fuckers.
They are in Amazons world so much that they got their own store which Amazon.co.uk does not want to alienate.

We are fucked, yeah, but it's reasonable. Sadly.

I can't believe it even took this long for that to happen. We're allready buying uk ("international" hu hur hur) versions anyway, so I didn't get why I should have it local and expensive anyway.

At least Amazon.co.uk delivers to Germany, France etc!
It does suck, but it could be worse, like the bullshit Apple is doing.

@ Local Retailer

I think it has got really tough for them. I sometimes buy in a very small
store with interior from the 80's or even earlier but they still have awesome
prices. I get the game one day early (or even more) and usaually don't pay more than
55€ (PS3). AC2 cost me 49€, two days before release!

On the long term, they will extinct.

Great news on Amazon! Their shipping made it impossible to buy there (except if I joined in with friends for a super order). And their Move Starter pack is 3£ cheaper than Zavvi - 48€ is not a bad deal...

Fake EDIT: Move is 42£ in the store but on checkout they show as £43.24. Still cheap, but are the adding a charge on Free Delivery? Isn't that fake advertisement?
