I did get free shipping (Netherlands). Order Total: GBP 23.28

I don't exactly get how Amazon's free shipping calculation works. I thought the order total had to be 25 pounds or more, but it doesn't work that way.
 
BTW, got Vanquish from Zavvi Today (after it shipped last Friday) - latest ever from the company.

Things I noticed. There is no printout in the envelope with the game at all. The envelope itself was different from the stuff they normally send out. It was white instead of the brown one, and the address print out was all done different. Looks like it was sent out from a different location altogether.

I really think they had some bad internal problems last week they were not letting people know about.

Isn't it 25€, since that would be the currency in most countries this free shipping applies to?

Yeah, but since Hut is the same company as Zavvi, do not expect to receive the item this year.

I've received multiple emails from Hut about their trouble with filling my Vanquish order and I cannot even cancel the order now. I already bought the game from a local store.

Hut/Zavvi are still respectable (a few days after release) for UK/Ireland deliveries

Stil waiting on Vanquish here in Ireland :(. Was shipped on release date and I'd normally receive it the tuesday after but not this time. Gonna keep my Zavvi orders limited to Mega Mondays from now on I reckon.
 
ok guys, this is quite embarrassing for me but zavvi did me no wrong after all...
Turns out, zavvi delivered relatively quick actually, both of my games.


I still order most stuff to the address of my parents (but under my name). Side info: My brother is currently in the US.
Now get this: My mother saw the English origin of the packages and thought each time they were a present from my brother for my birthday and Christmas respectively. She opened them to make sure and mistook the games for DVDs (my brother doesn't gift me games as I usually already have what i want), yeah... they are a bit out of touch. Obviously they didn't tell me.

Now I got a call from my mother and as soon as she said "I talked with your brother's girlfriend and she said he didn't send you any presents, yet. But we received these two "movies" for you last month." I immediately realized what this means and from that moment on I was face-palming for like 5 minutes.

Now I feel bad for asking zavvi sending me those games again, should I send them back when they arrive? The games are both very cheap so I guess it doesn't really matter to them, I would give them to my buddy otherwise so we can play them in online coop which would actually be quite cool.


I'm very sorry zavvi for doubting and (unknowingly) betraying you! Let it be known that zavvi is still cool!


(though they sent me the standard version of K&L2 and not the LE! well, maybe the second package will be the CE ^^)

Of course you need to send them back.

The fault wasn't theirs. And whether or not the incurred damage is small and wouldn't be noticed is not your decision.

I don't think posting that was a good idea, my couple of quid profit from selling one of the Gamestop sale games provoked hostile reactions from some in this thread, I would assume you getting a game for free would be tantamount to murder! :lol

But yeah, I had this happen once before too where it took weeks for a game to arrive and it and the replacement showed up at the same time so I just sent the replacement back.

It would be very unethical not to send them. If people abuse the system by lying that they never got their packages, cheap stores like Zavvi could very well put higher price tags on their goods to cover the costs. They're giving you good service by sending you the games for the second time so for the sake of your conscience send them back.

For castlevania you could buy it now for £16.19 using the walkers code, play it for 2 weeks then ebay it for your money back.

I doubt it'll drop a lot more soon, and the Walkers code will expire on the 1st, so I'd say go for it. It's BELOW 20€, including shipping.

How long till it's £12.99? Though Zavvi/TheHut can be quite stubborn with some titles. Star Ocean PS3 is jumping between £14.95-£17.95 and just don't want to drop to £9.99.

It seems they really want to clear the warehouse space before years end lol.

Very nice job informing people. Was waiting for Castlevania and Enslaved (they had bomba written all over them) and got the second yesterday from the game offer and castlevania today. Total 45 euro's for both games :lol

I wonder what reason they come up with next. First it was delay from supplier and then an error in warehouse. (which they found and "fixed")
Gah, I'll try to contact my credit card company and see what I can do next week. Probably about the whole order since my Castlevania hasn't arrived either. (3.5 weeks now)
 
I know STRICTLY it's not EU - but Mass Effect 2 is $10 on the EA store, but ONLY the US one. I was wondering if there could be a workaround for this? You can use EA cash cards to get it so I guess you wouldn't need a US credit card... I REALLY want Mass Effect 2!!

Just ordered Castlevania (PS3) and used the walkers code. I wonder how long it'll take for this to come.
Also I've not had any word from zavvi about receiving my returned Eternal Sonata which I sent back almost a week ago. If I've heard nothing by monday I'll complain again. All this hassle over a ~£10 Valkyria Chronicles.
