Anyone else here that really can't eat the cheap made cup noodles that can be bought in the store? They either have to little taste or just taste bad and the noodles are goddamn awful. There are. A few cup noodles here which are really expensive but man the difference is like day and night. Tastiest I can buy is the Nissin Soba classic, costs roughly 3x as much as the cheap ones but they are by far the besto se to buy. There are cheaper Nissin cup noodles that only cost 2x as much but taste also really good. Only way I can eat the cheap stuff is if I have some teriyaki sauce :/

How about you gaf? Can you eat cheap cup noodles or do you go for the more expensive ones?

Nong Shim instant noodles are the best.

Frozen??? I have never heard of such a thing 0_0

What you want to try and find is noodles that aren't dried. The dried kind were a scientific feat. They're also especially bad for you ... and not great tasting. If you can find some sort of frozen noodle brand (Ramen or otherwise), they're a step up although the soup base packs are not really ideal.

I buy these ... but then again I don't usually buy the Ramen kind and a quick look at the ingredients for the Soba noodles confirms HFCS. : ( I make my own broth ... I don't have any of their Ramen now so I can't confirm. Part of the problem with Japanese food these days is they seem to have caught on to heavy use of HFCS. It's really a shame.

Another option is stir fry yakisoba noodles.

You can substitute the flavor pack with oyster sauce, soy sauce (not kikkoman), and worcestershire sauce. All you have to do is stir fry the noodles in oil briefly (optional), then add a little water to the pan and cover. Take them out and fry your vegetables. Add back in the noodles and the sauce. It takes like 20 min, which isn't instant, but it's a hell of a lot better for you and better tasting.

If you're opposed to any real cooking, then live with the dried noodles. There probably are better, more expensive ones ... but are they worth it?

I have always hated both cheap and expensive cup of noodles for the most part but i found pure heaven in the Maruchan YAKISOBA line of noodles, specifically their Spicy Chicken flavored one. It comes with a packet of yummy vegetable that taste great when microwaved and with some awesome spicy chicken powder. I am addicted to it and am happy to somewhat live on this stuff and it is only 1 dollar.

EDIT: Well i see others know about the awesomeness of YAKISOBA but spicky chicken is their best stuff.

Best Instant Yakisoba noodles I've ever had.

Top with cut hard boiled egg and sprinkle black pepper for taste.

So delicious.

I've only had the roast chicken and teriyaki beef. I love them both but I know they aren't healthy so I just eat them once in a while but man are they good.

What other flavours are there?

I only discovered this brand of Yakisoba a few months back.

How is that pricey? It's not 30 cents cheap, but it's still a relative cheap type.

Next time you go to an Asian supermarket, get these. Trust me I'm Asian.

Spicy Chicken is what you should be seeking out my friend. And yeah, they aren't super healthy but i look at it like this, it is better than me getting subway,McDonalds,Pizza etc..ad nauseam.

It really is highly recommended, i was surprised at the quality honestly. If you can find it definitely try it.

EDIT: I never knew that they had a beef/mexican taco one and it honestly sounds gross.

spicy chicken is so good, even the spice is near perfect.
not too much but its definitely there.

beef taco isn't that bad. flavor is really strong and it was very spicy.
cheddar was god awful.

Migoreng? Its popular in Australia... Even other south east Asians respect the Indonesian cheap food special. Used to be 20 cents a pack in high school.

posting from phone so no pic but yeah, nice taste although the packet oil looks like a killer

different spices, chilli and soy... Throw in an egg and that's the good shit if your poor

If i ever see it i will give it a shot. I really dislike most of the Yakisoba flavors though, not because they taste like shit but because of them being bland like Chicken and Roasted Chicken but yeah their Cheese one is just crap.

Thanks, going to try those out! :) yeah it's a shame but hopefully they will find a better way and reduce the amount of HFCS in the noodles

I've never seen this before...how does it taste?

Very tasty! They even carry them in our regular (german) supermarkets who usually just have that disgusting YumYum crap.

These one have this intense dark sauce (you drain all the hot water through the lid before adding the sauce) and a really nice texture. Rather expensive, but worth it. They also have a chicken version that I find a bit boring - chili is where it's at.

Also: Shin Ramyun Black is fantastic.

Truth.

These are delicious. Chewy noodles. Nice broth.
Not as good as a respectful ramen joint of course, but still miles ahead of any "instant" ramen.

Ko-Lee Go Noodles

come in a few flavours, chicken/curry/hot & spicy/bombay masala

also dirt cheap, £4.80 for 12 on amazon

It makes a big difference to me. I can't stand that Maruchan cheap crap. I love almost any Nong Shim product but Black is amazing.

I haven't dabbled in frozen noodles. I must try them.
