Yes! :lol I'm not in this video but I was indeed dancing in this train. I left 15/30 minutes later after some annoying dude kept on texting "I don't have headset" every time.
 
I was at the mall earlier and there was this couple playing chess, people started getting together around them for some reason, then i started the rock dance and soon there were like 10+ users doing the same around this Chess match lol, it was fun but i guess it was one of those you had to be ther moments :p

Honestly, what the FUCK do I have to do to get into this Beta? Everywhere I go(not on this site), people post "omg I didn't even sign up and I got one!" I signed up, downloaded the theme, did everything I could, and I keep getting fucking shafted. It's REALLY pissing me off. All I want to do is try this shit out, and give some feedback, which is more than what 2/3 of the people who got into the Beta will contribute. What the fuck do I have to do to get in?
 
JP Home is empty.

I went there, for the TGS booth and it was a ghost town. The mall, the town square, bowling alley, all empty. >_> Guess they don't like their home.

But American Home was crack-a-lackin. Soooo many people there. Just walking up to someone and talking to them is sooooo much fun.

Back to JP: The TGS booth was boring as hell though. Would be cool if the demo'd games were able to be played in HOME too, and if they could live-feed the conference(s) to the HOME square, so it'd feel like you were there too.

All in all, I really, really like home! Can't wait for the full release so I can re-decorate my boring house, and get some new clothes aside from Echochrome stuff and penguin stuff <_<

I hear ya man. I'm willing to put in time and give feedback, and I've tried to get in for what seems like forever, but no luck. It's unfortunate, I'm sure there are tons of codes wasting away in people's inbox.
 
Speaking about sharing... is it ok to do it? I've read that current invites don't even allows people into the home beta forums, does that mean that there isn't a nda etc?

I don't see Sony banning people for sharing an almost final version of a free product anyway, and they could have locked it in the first place

You are not missing much, to be honest with you. You get an apartment but you are limited to a lot of stuff like furniture, hell, even how your character looks is limited. There's about a hundred people at any given moment exploring different areas. There's 4 places you can go to, 5 counting your "home". A lot of the things at the Mall are inaccessible and the only thing worth doing when you are using Home is dancing around (:lol ) and spying on other people's conversations, if you have a headset.

The closed beta invites are more like a stress test for the big open beta (think gMail) in the near future where everybody will be invited and a lot of extra stuff will be available to use.

There's a 60 something user limit in every area, you'll never see more than that, at least until they increase the cap.
 
If I knew how boring this was going to be I wouldve gave my code away, sorry guys.

If you have time to walk around and dance with people in a virtual world, I envy the amount of free time you have.

I never signed up and still received a code yesterday. I wish they would've given me a KZ2 invite instead. I'll download this tomorrow and try it out.

They said they will slowly be adding users to Home so I guess we can say that it's started. By end of the year everyone will be in.

The question is, what features will be available by then ? It's pretty barebones now ...
 
Ugh, I think next time I go onto Home, I'm gonna change my avatar to male. Just from being on Friday night, I got all these friend requests, and one of the guys (whom I added before I realized what was going on) has been sending chat requests non-stop since then >:|

Thanks. My birthday was yesterday, and I was out of state for the weekend. The email with the code was dated 11/21. I just didn't get a chance to check my emails until today.
 
While I'm glad to have received an invite, I implore you not to give away your first born for a beta code.

It really isn't worth it. I went back to playing something else after about 20 minutes of monkeying around in Home.

A couple Home questions:

As long as you're connected to the american server, EVERYONE is in the same "world" right? There aren't multiple instances of each area are there? I just find it odd that I've run into almost no GAF people. The one exception being one Mr Spinnington sighting.

Is anyone else annoyed at how long it takes to load other people's characters? Does it take super long for everyone else or do I just have a bad connection?



Anyway my verdict on Home right now is that it functions pretty well as an online chatroom. If you load into Home and don't talk to anyone, ofcourse it's gonna suck. It's meant to be a meeting place and it's perfect for finding and meeting other people who play PS3 games online.

No dude. There are obvious technical limitations to how many characters can be in one scene at once (I think it's 64) so there are multiple instances of the Central Square, Theatre etc. If people are in your friends list, you can probably get around that, but I don't know how as I'm one of those people with 0 people on my friends list... :)
