Banana Soda!

Took me ages to find some locally but I finally found an asian grocer with it. I also tried very unsuccessfully to make my own.

Ginger beer

Good man.

This is one of the few things I miss from living in Tennessee. I don't have access to any distinctive regional sodas anymore.

Ironport Soda. Oh man, it's wonderful.

From Wikipedia...

Ironport (sometimes spelled as two words: Iron Port) is an old-fashioned carbonated soft drink from the early part of the 20th century that was served at soda fountains and is still popular in the Intermountain West. It can still be found in parts of Utah, Southern Idaho, Southern Montana, Western Wyoming, and Eastern Nevada. The flavor has been described as somewhat of a cross between root beer and Caribbean spices and is very similar to the Cuban soda, Iron Beer. It is rumored to have been named after Porter Rockwell. The syrup can now be ordered online at RSM Foods.

I had to go to the hardware store to pick some stuff up and for whatever reason they had a bunch of this Kansas City Cream Soda, Sarsaparilla, and Root Beer.

just picked up a 12 of Cheerwine here in TN and it's lovely. Wish there was more regional soda. It's such a big country I hate that it's all nationwide.

Ugh. Cheerwine sucks. Luckily establishments that serve this swill generally have an acceptable option for sweet tea and lemonade.
You're a god damned monster and I hope you have nothing but sadness, sorrow and disappointment in your life.

Oh man, you just stepped into my #2 hobby. Here's what I recommend:

Root Beers
Hanks- My personal favorite. Great mixture of bite and vanilla creaminess.

Henry Weinhard- The foamiest rootbeer I've ever drank. Makes great floats.

Other sodas
Mr. Q Cumber- Yes, it's a cucumber flavored soda, and yes, it actually tastes great.

Faygo Rock n' Rye- The best cream soda I've ever had. Sweet without being sickeningly so.

YMMV on finding most of these, as most sodas like these are regional, but many can be bought online.

What the fuck? Henry Weinhard uses high fructose corn syrup in their root beer. Boo this mannnnnn!!!

There's only one root beer to choose and that is Virgil's:

Sooooo good

Swamp pop is made here in Lafayette, Louisiana. The flavors really reflect Louisiana culture and tradition. So delicious and I dont normally like soda.
Swamp Pop is a form of music that was popular here in the 50-60s

Best thread! As a lover of soda, I'm always looking for something new. When I moved to Florida I picked upsome Cheerwine and it's now in my top 10. Great taste.

Kansas City Authentic *(Bottled in Minnesota)

Having lived in MN, it's still authentic and local to me. :p

Cheerwine I enjoy from time to time and Green River is closest thing to DnL I've found. Top 3 though have to be in no particular order.

The jelly belly one when cold enough tastes like a cherry Icee to me.
