Chicago mix popcorn

Is there any better popcorn? Serious question. Because to me, it's perfect.

For the poor folks who don't know, it is a combo of half cheddar popcorn and half caramel corn. You get your salty, your sweet, and your crunchy all in one delicious handful.

Oh, it's called Chicago Mix where you are? We have a Kernels stand in the mall, they call it West Coast Wave.

But you're absolutely right, the weird mix of cheesy and caramel actually works. It's sensational. Haters, try it before you comment!

I need the butter popcorn in the mix too. The best part of getting one of those tri-combo cans is pulling the divider.

It wasn't as gross as I thought it would be, but I feel pretty safe saying I'll never have it again. It's just ok.

The Popcorn Indiana one is really delicious. That's the only iteration I've tried.

Trynna eat healthier so avoiding the G.H. Cretors cheesy popcorn my wife got the other day.

Chicago mix is trade marked by a local business where I live and they recently sued a bunch of other popcorns around the country for using it so I think it's referred to by a lot of different names. It's a delicious mix for sure though.

I absolutely love it. Trader Joes has a bag of it too.

One thing I do wish though is that someone would combine it with butter flavor too. I think when you combine all 3, it's beyond perfect.

No OP, there really isn't.

Unfortunately my grocery store stopped carrying it.

Yup. Discovered it recently. It's incredible.

I saw ghost pepper nacho popcorn at World Market...anyone know if it's good and actually hot?? Seems like most "ghost pepper" things aren't very spicy.

I could eat the entire Costco bag if I was on a particular heavy cheat day bender. It's SO good.

It's the best. It's Chicago style because of Garrett though right? That Costco brand shit is delicious but it's nothing compared to fresh Garrett.

Costco sells it in industrial-sized bags. Whenever I go, I have to buy at least two because a single bag will barely last a couple days (and no, it's not just me eating them, otherwise I'd weigh 400 pounds at this point!)

It truly is god-tier snacking.

Popcorn Indiana kettle corn is amazing. And I say this as someone who hates kettle corn.

I have never had better Caramel popcorn, and by extension, Chicago mix popcorn anywhere but Garrett's. Fucking love that place.

So some jerk bought a Christmas tin of popcorn and does what everybody does is eat the cheesy and caramel flavors and then called it Chicago mix? I'm okay with that.

All their stuff is pretty amazing. I've only seen their Chicago Mix in one store, though. Their White Cheddar and Movie Theater Popcorn varieties are delish, as is the Kettle one you mentioned. Did you get to try their LTO chocolate PB drizzle corn?

This is a bad opinion on the same level as pizza being awful. Shame on you.

cheesy popcorn is amazing. in fact i'd say it's better than hot buttered popcorn depending on how much butter and what cheese.

but caramel and most sweet popcorn suck. you grab a bunch of kernels expecting something savory and you get a bunch of sweetness in your mouth, it's not good.

Chicago mix only works well if you shove popcorn in your mouth by the handful. Like a heathen.

I like both contributing flavored to the mix though. My favorite is caramel corn with dark chocolate drizzle over it.

I despise cheese popcorn. with the fury of 1,000,000 supernovas.
Buttered popcorn with Tabasco on top.
this sounds tempting, except then the popcorn gets soggy... which I only despise slightly less than above. If you could do it with a Tabasco powder maybe..

funny story.. I used to make a LOT of popcorn at home (still do, but I mean like multiple times a week previously). I'd put "butter" on it.. and it would always be super soggy. could never figure it out. I then realized I was putting a spread on it. For those who don't know.. spreads are spreadable usually by having a high water content... so yeah..... took me over a year to figure that one out.
