Chihuahuas make me feel irrationally angry

in all my interactions with people walking their dogs, the small ones were always the aggressive ones.

I am not a pet person because I wouldn't do well with the responsibility, but if I ever got a dog, it would never be one of the smaller breeds.

I've never met anyone who owned a chihuahua who didnt love them. I used to not like small dogs. I hated chihuahuas. Then I got in a relationship with someone who had one and I was his daddy for a long ass time and they became one of my favorite breeds.

Sharing my feelings about small dogs got me on the Neogaf worst posts twitter

You would step on my dog? My fucking dog?

What the fuck is wrong with you?

small dog rankings

shihtzus, jack russells > corgis - quality little small doggers

chihuahuas, pugs, daschunds - absolute wastes of space who I wouldn't care if they died out. pugs are just dumb but the other two are legit nasty bastards

Throw Pugs on the list too

I dislike them so much. Ugh.

Oh come on! Who can hate a pug?! They're dumbasses, yes, but the most loveable a dumbass can be. They're basically the private pile of dogs. They're silly and more than a little stupid, but they got heart! And that's all that matters :')

I totally get the big dog plight, though. Raised in the rural south I've always had big dogs, but my mother had a pug once that while was the dumbest dog I've ever had by a factor of 5, just loved everyone and was such a nice animal you couldn't hate the poor thing if you tried.

The dog equivalent to the munted people from The Hills have Eyes.
Only more inbred.

Woah buddy let's not say something we'll regret

hes right, their anatomy is straight up deformed

to the point where they have breed specific brain disorders because of it....
good job, humans.

He states twice in his post that he would never hurt any creature.

Also your dog is ugly.

First, this is what they say

"I sometimes fantasize about how I would "accidentally" step on them on my way out, splintering their spine under the sole of my shoe, while they pathetically whine."

So, yeah, he would never hurt an animal but he fantasizes, HIS WORDS, about killing a small animal.

Also, my dog is a beautiful creature that helped defeat the Empire.

Are people with fetishes that are frowned upon by society awful people even if they never act upon those desires?

Something about the way they look just irritates me. Not all of them, though.

Take this chihuahua for example:

I have no issues with this one. It's a cool color, and it doesn't look like its eyes are about to pop out of its head.

I feel like if a chihuahua started barking at me and tried to bite my leg, I would have an incredibly difficult time resisting the urge to punt it over the nearest fence. I would never actually do that, because I'm not a monster, but they seem less like dogs and more like rats to me.

It's not like all small/toy dogs make me feel this way, either; pomeranians are small and I think they're fucking sweet.

What's wrong with me, GAF? Am I alone in this?

I'm dog racist too, I hate these shit rat dogs, even the one you don't mind displeases me by its very existence

I think the only small dog I don't mind are Corgis

all kinds of dog sizes and breeds are fine. the onus are on the owner :<

my new doggo says hi to all the dog lovers in the thread

pls dont be so unnecessarily mean to particular dog breeds. most dogs are creatures of love. hatred of animals who are mostly helpless without their human owners makes me sads ; __ ;

click to make pic biggu :D

Im starting to dislike big dogs my niece has one (husky i think) and stayed a few days she looks beautiful but jesus Christ is she dumb as a rock and poops like a monster.

fuck no theyre not
toy dogs have so many potential health issues they shouldn't be bred for the same of being a gimmick. Adopt some poor dog on death row at a shelter instead.

big dogs has more environmental carbon footprints since they eat more and poop more.

and there are more big dogs being dumped and abandoned at the shelters :( people loves the looks of huskies but most people do not know how to handle / care for them. so there's LOADS AND LOADS AND LOADS of big dogs at the shelters. it's saaaaaad.

i love big dogs and smalls.

im not saying that all breeds are 'genetically' fine, but im saying the dogs who are already here and alive needs love NOT prejudice and hatred

i dont condone the selective breeding for weird 'aesthetic' purposes, but hating small breed irrationally is NOT my approach to the matter

Yeah, I hate them. Knew a woman with one when we were small and people flat out refused to visit her house because it would never stop yapping at people, ever. Never, ever got comfortable with anyone but its owner, and would nip and children.

Now my neighbours have one and I can't lie, I do fantasise about killing it. It's such a nuisance that we had a strata meeting about the fucking thing. I couldn't believe I wasn't the one who started the meeting, I must have the patience of a saint.

If I put on music, it starts barking for 20 minutes. If I open my front door, it starts barking for 20 minutes. If I make basically any noise in my house at all that it can sense through the shared wall, it goes off. And if I can see it, it's shaking and trembling and it's not clear whether it's full of hate or fear, it's just a nasty little creature.

If my neighbours weren't gone for 8 months a year I would have voted for the 'no dogs' clause, but since they're not I suck it up.

You specifically stated that all breeds are fine, not really about already existing dogs being treated well. I dont think anyone would tell you otherwise?

I have the same problem with pugs.

The just seem like a goddamn evolutionary dead end with all their wheezing and farting and stupid lookin faces.

You're perfectly normal OP.

It's well known that tiny dogs are freak creations of selfish people who decided "I want a pet that annoys everyone around me while also fitting in my pocket".

Then again, almost all dog breeds are freak creations. Corgis are adorable though. And Germen Shepherds. Pretty much all medium to large sized dogs are good.

I agree with OP, Chihuahuas with that little rat face are the worst. Nothing about them is adorable or sensible, their entire existence is a mystery to me.

yeah i mean all breeds (who are living) are fine. like i said, the onus is more on their owners (because i mean they must be alive and cared for by someone)

(since we're not talking about wild dogs and dingos and jackals)

It's quite incredible how we managed to degenerate a wolf into something like a chihuahua over a couple thousand years.

fuck no theyre not

Some big dogs have potential health issues too sadly. I think the best is to get a mutt instead of a pure-breed.

Love my Chihuahua, wouldn't change him for any other breed. Funniest dog I've ever had, and he's super smart: learns whatever you need to teach him almost instantly.

Love you Tuco. ❤️

That's a nice picture, aside from the prominently featured chihuahua balls.

Long hair Chihuahuas are cute can't say I'm fan of breed in general. My experience has been anti- social balls of anger. I don't get the small dog hate in here though. Cav King Charles for life yo!

100% agreed OP, theyÂ’re absolutely terrible dogs and are the only dog breed I donÂ’t care for.

It also doesnÂ’t help that most of the Chihuahuas IÂ’ve seen and been around with just fucking bark at everything and are ultra aggressive.

I am not a pet person because I wouldn't do well with the responsibility, but if I ever got a dog, it would never be one of the smaller breeds.

One time my neighbor's dog, a dachshund, ran into my house and beat up my dog and cat and attacked me. Eh.

One of my grandmothers absolutely loved her chihuahuas. I always found them to be neurotic, irritable, and virtually incapable of exercising any form of self-control. They did a lot of stuff that probably would have gotten them put down if they were large enough dogs to actually pose a serious threat.

I almost feel like they're aware of that last part on some dim, instinctively assholish level, as if they think they're the Die Hard villains of dogs.

lol this thread is funny, swap Chihuahuas for certain skin colors/ethnic groups and this thread would be a graveyard. The buzz words are all there, never met a good one, they are all unpleasant, hope they all die. Opinions on little dogs don't matter, but it is funny to see.

Anyhow I know people who say the same about so-called dangerous dogs like Rotts and Pittbulls, hell I used to think the same about cats, that they're dangerous or assholes. With dogs it really is up to the owners and how they raise em.

Chihuahuas and other small dogs are just really big rats as far as I'm concerned.

If it can fit in your handbag and its not a newborn puppy?

It is not a dog.

What's wrong with me, GAF? Am I alone in this?

Don't worry OP, my chi makes me irrationally angry at times too.

"Dammit Stella, I just asked you if you had to go outside and you ignored me, I sit down and you start whining at the back door!"

"Dammit Stella, that is a truck going by outside, it's not the UPS guy here to murder!"

"Dammit Stella, the nurse is just trying to hand you back to me, you didn't have to put two punctures all the way through my hand!"

"Dammit Stella, it's just you're flea preventative treatment!"

"Dammit Stella, it's 5am and no the neighborhood is not appreciative of your rooster like qualities"

But, I do like my dog quite a bit, she's smaller than the cats and narcs on them whenever they're getting into things in the kitchen.

She always greets my son when he's waking up.

Follows me all over the back yard when I'm working on the pool, or gardening.

Is always happy to see any of us when we come in the garage door.

I grew up a cat person, so when I married my wife and she said, "I need a dog" and I denied her with 2 cats over the 1st 5 years of marriage she was pretty stoked to get Stella, until our son came along.

Poor Stella was forgotten when Noah showed up, she had to adapt. Stella finally gave me the chance, a cat person, and is now my tri-color shadow.

Good dog Stella.
