Trump's bluster around Greenland was never going to happen. Same as the stupid Canada as 51st State comments. "Good" relationship with Putin and Trump didn't prevent harsh sanctions and support against Russia.

Europe is trading hypotheticals for known bad actors and proceeding with decimation of its manufacturing. Frankly, it's insanity.

Not so hipothetical when they are moving troops and waging active war or picking up dictators in LATAM.

Mexico is having a meltdown right now because of CIA agents working in Mexican territory with the help of a governor of a Northern state without the federal government knowing. They always have but in cooperation with the federal government.

You might say that they "deserve it" bur I bet countries within the sphere of influence of China also believe what they do is right.

Chinese need to be independent of the opposition long term so it makes sense they develop manufacturing capabilities. The rest of the world being able to buy is just a secondary benefit.

As a Mexican my perspective is that they are both two sides of the same coin. When seeing videos like the ones the white house has put out on their Twitter or hear about a third term is kind of difficult to take them as serious as before.
