It's not that much different from a regular military folding spade. They have added a couple of swiss army knife type gimmicks. Personaly i think it's better to have these functions on a smaller extra tool/actual army knife.

The small details on that spade look quite flimsy and my guess is that half of it becomes useless after some heavy usuage and especialy in mud conditions etc.
