Chocobos Mysterious Dungeon Wii Movie

GO PLAY...

i've played *many* roguelikes - just no japanese ones. they have a justified rep for being hard (which i like), but the whole chocobo theme suggests a possibly younger target demographic/lack of challenge (which would make the game a chore to play).

I really like the Chocobo Tales DS game, so that this game interests me.

well shiren is pretty hard, but the challenge in the original chocobo dungeon was screwed, you had a bunch of weak boring enemy and then *BAM* ZE UBER BOSS! still as i said i know someone who enjoyed the last roguelike (yangus) square-enix attempt a lot so i have hope for this title
the interface of shiren is also a thousand time better than any roguelike as you don't need to remember a letter for every action you want to do

I enjoyed DQ Yangus very much, and it's probably my favorite Mysterious Dungeon game overall. That said, Cavia made DQ Yangus, and I highly doubt they're making this one. I really didn't enjoy the two previous Chocobo Dungeon games, either, but... I do still have some hope for this one.

Hi, my name is S-E and don't know how to make light sources on the Wii :(

:lol You're right.

Really, this must be very early in development. Everything is too cheesy.

I know how the Mysteroius Dungeon games works and how are those developed in story and so... meanwhile the gameplay rocks, I don't expect anything more to be over decent.

I think the Japanese are going to eat this up though... in fact, I'm starting to think all 3 of Squeenix's Wii projects so far have a very good chance of passing that million milestone.
Indeed I think that if the three of them will not succeed selling good in Japan, S-E and every other third party developers will dismiss Wii forever. Make or break.

The first MD game I played was the Pokémon game for DS, which I didn't like at first, but I ended up enjoying it, so I might give this a try.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

It looks decent but flat, in a PS2 way, which really isn't good for a company as great at visuals as SE. Lighting makes a big difference, and Wii seems good at livening things up with decent highlights from what we've seen in SMG, SBB, PBR and even Wii Sports. Graphically, this video doesn't look much better than Pokémon XD for GC, which looked nice, but 3rd Parties still seem to be showing off GC level efforts rather than the step up we're seeing in Nintendo's up coming titles.
