This was awesome. Very tight, and Corey actually does the vocals something close to justice.

I still can't believe how much this impacted me. With the passing of other icons, I felt sad, but I quickly moved on. This one struck, deep.
I didn't cry but I'm a lot more upset than I thought I'd be. Like it's just so shitty that talented 90s Seattle musicians dying is a trend, carrying into 2017 even. It's like a sick joke. Chris is the most talented frontman of the Seattle bands. And I don't think he or Soundgarden get enough credit; everyone calls them grunge and they were sometimes, but they were also one of those bands that took things to a whole new level in the rock sphere. You listen to a song like Head Down and you realize that mainstream bands today have no concept of the complexity and depth their predecessors had.Same. Robin Williams was extremely upsetting for me, but Cornell took it to another level. I don't think I've ever cried over an artists death before
Slaves and bulldozers is one of the most vocally impressive songs in rock history. Gives me chills Everytime I hear it!
Man I forgot how great Incessant Mace is. The live version that was performed on Letterman is fucking incredible.

It's so weird that it's already been 2 days since the news broke. Still doesn't feel real to me
The video of him and Linkin Park performing the KRWLNG is awesome. Aaron Lewis did good on the original but Chris' voice is amazing on it.

Listened to Badmotorfinger this morning. So many good tracks on there, but I'd like to mention Searching With My Good Eye Closed. It's really strange (in a good way) how it starts out with the see and say toy stuff:
This is my good eye
Do you hear a cow?
The rooster says:
Here is a pig:
The devil says:
And then Chris comes in with this dual-layered vocal, in one ear is this demon-like growl, and in the other this banshee wail and it builds to a crescendo. Probably one of my favorite moments on the album.
I don't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost, but I'm on my way...
The sadness of you leaving I can not begin to describe here. So close to home. I was in awe of your talent. The time I was able to spend with you, which was not enough, I will forever cherish. At your core you were a smart, sweet and gentle soul. This is how I will always remember you. Love you Chris.🖤 Hard to believe this picture marks the last time I will ever see you here on earth.
Fuckign heartbreaking but I'm feeling the love. A ton of awesome artists paying tribute. Aerosmith, Corey Taylor, RHCP, Megadeth, plus others if you google on youtube.
Read up on some of the new details on his final few hrs.
Man, that was hard to read. Sounds like the ativan had an effect for sure. It also sounds like if his bodyguard would have kicked in the doors even a few minutes sooner, he might have survived.

There has been great tribute videos, but this is something else: Living Colour tribute to Chris Cornell.
Fantastic band chose a fantastic song to tribute Chris. The moment where Corey choke up & gets emotional had me in tears.
I just remembered the song Chris recorded called I Promise it's not Goodbye. It was a poem written by a fan who had cancer and had lost his young daughter to the same type cancer. Chris met with him a few times and asked if he could put this poem to music. It's a beautiful and powerful song.
No prob. I just wish there was a studio version of it now. As soon as Chris comes on it's like ecstasy to the ears. Seeing how excited Chester gets and how they vibe off each other is really quite something to see. Thanks for posting this. Awesome video.

Taylor Momsen/The Pretty Reckless covering Like A Stone yesterday. She was a huge fan of them, and had opened for them Wednesday night.

Not easy stealing Staley's thunder.
This was absolutely amazing. I've always liked Living Colour when I've heard them, but this really opened my eyes. They still sound amazing together. There has been great tribute videos, but this is something else: Living Colour tribute to Chris Cornell.

Yep same here. Lost mom at 8, listened to my sister's handmedown of Superunknown and Dirt (got others myself later), and my dad's Core & Purple. This is still hitting me pretty hard tbh. Soundgarden was a big escape for me as a child after my father passed away when I was 4. STP and AIC were as well, but I had resigned myself to Scott and Layne dying young with their continuous public battles, this just was so out of nowhere...feels bad man.

I swear if anything happens to Trent Reznor or Josh Homme next I'm going to be completely destroyed. Chris' death is gonna take a while. I was listening to Fall to Pieces again and feeling for Scott too, that was still recent but such a tragic life with a tragic end.
