Chris Evans Extended His Marvel Contract To "Wrap Everything Up"

Fair play.

Was never terested in Captain America, seemed rather bland and too patriotic.

But the films changed all that and some of the credit goes to Chris Evans. Played one hell of a role.

Cap in the films is pretty similar to cap in the comics for the last 2+ decades.

This is gonna be Bucky and Cap:

Goes against Thanos. Thanos curbstomps him.

Steve Rogers stands up, knows he has to delay the Mad Titan and gain his friends some time. He knows he's not making it out alive. He raises his arms, bloodied and battered and trembling and a slight smile appears on his face.

"I can do this all day."

Going to be sad when he goes. It will be really hard to recast this role in the future imo; he's the underrated star of the MCU.

It's interesting because the tone of it implies there's no plans for Cap beyond Infinity War: Part 2. They needed him to extend his contract in order to wrap that up, but the subsequent explanation is that it's only to cover Infinity War itself.

If he does die, it's going to be one of the most emotional moments in the MCU - perhaps cinematic history - up to that point.

they don't have to worry about recasting him

Bucky/Falcon will be the next Cap

and they've got so many stories to get to post-Evans

I just don't know what the MCU looks like post captain America and iron man.

it's going to look amazing - Captain Marvel & Black Panther leading a team across the universe/multiverse

Then Stark shows up to help just like their first ever meeting when Loki was beating him

And the two die together saving the day.

I think they'll tease Cap's death and then Stark is the one who bites the big one. Stark's been borderline suicidal in at least 3 movies anyway. It'll also be his moment of redemption for all the shit he pulled.

Hope we're done with Cap, Iron Man and Thor after Infinity War.

Ready for the new Avengers (Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Dr Strange etc)

"he wanted to try directing instead."

Having watched his directorial debut I can confirm that signing on for more Captain America movies was the correct choice.

Can't believe there is even a debate as to the next Cap. It's clearly Bucky and it's not even in any form of doubt it's so obvious. Plus falcon doesn't have any powers. Bucky has the super serum knockoff in him so he's powered up. Plus he's going to get a shiny new vibranium arm for his slumber party in Wakanda.

it's either gonna be death and replacement, or perhaps things will be more than a little different, assuming someone has to use the Infinity Gauntlet to undo whatever Thanos does.

Whose to say that characters don't just come back with different actors at the end of the film.

Captain Marvel is a Saiyan!?

She's whatever you need her to be if you'll read her book. Please. Hard-boiled detective? Cyborg from the future? Please. Just tell us what you need to get you to open the book. Fourth-wall breaking comedy character? Space wizard?
