Uhhh Thor?
Fair enough. Though I'd hope to see something more than just dumb/beautiful hulkling. I do like the suggested idea of making him nerdyI think he has good comedic timing, and has proven to be a good actor in general. I would put him above and beyond the list of hunks Hollywood has forced upon us in recent years as far as acting and charisma.
I too write off movies before I see them because of the gender of fictional characters
Please don't make me hurt you.TMNT 3 would have been a lot better if the turtles were women.
All he needs is a gigantic pair of glasses and that's half the battle right there.
Where does that post mention gender?
I'm going to laugh when this is the better of the two ghostbusters movies.
Yeah you're right they should have cast those four actresses that you like instead of these four actresses that you don't like. Does anyone else think it's fucked up Clive Owen isn't playing Doctor Strange?
Does he have comedic talent? I think I would have picked Channing Tatum.
They chose the right Hemsworth.Surprised they couldn't get Liam to do it.
I don't necessarily like those four, they have not done brilliant in everything they were in, but they are more unique than the current line-up - which is my issue. It does not even have to be those ones I picked - just a more broad range of humour styles would do.
My issue is a bunch of people with far too similar comedy mindsets are working next to each other. In the original, none of the actors could have swapped their lines with each other. With the current lineup, I feel all the jokes could be interchangeable,
Of course, go one and put more words in my mouth if you want. That's really helpful.
That's nice.
I like the all female Ghostbusters idea... but man, I wish Melissa McCarthy wasn't the lead on this. I find her insufferable.
Surprised they couldn't get Liam to do it.
My bad, he must just really, really, really hate Chris Hemsworth
She's not the lead. It's basically Kristen Wiig & Leslie Jones' movie. McCarthy is basically Winston. Except they probably won't waste her like Reitman/Aykroyd/Ramis wasted Ernie Hudson.
Is that weird?
Considering that he doesn't exactly have a pivotal role in this film, kind of.
Well he did say "another reason."
This movie is a horrible idea, but it's Feig so it all makes sense.

Smart. A part of me thinks this is just fun casting, the other half knows its' because he's going to end up joining the inevitable spinoff team of male Ghostbusters led by Channing Tatum & Chris Pratt.
Would've preferred Chelsea Peretti as the secretary, but again - cool if this is actually inspired casting.

Is the other reason the all-female lead cast?
how do you know this? that's really tight if true though. jones and wiig are the two i was actually down for.
Hell, it's even become overplayed where you reverse that and have a group of guys drooling over a hot secretary. Just totally overplayed in general. I don't know, maybe I just find it more funny to have a handsome Hemsworth as a secretary, falling for any of these women, but despite his looks, they aren't attracted to him and don't give him the time of day. That's fuckin' hilarious, especially if he's the one making attempts to be noticed, and is fawning over the girls, but it's all just one-sided.Yeah, that would be refreshing. The only thing I'm concerned about is the seemingly inevitable scene of the girls fawning over him and trying to make as many crude comments as possible in a vain effort at comedy.

What if he plays a gay secretary
Rate that idea out of 10

Can someone tell me why this is supposed to be genius? It seems like one of the go-to things to do to salvage a bit of comedy.
Cast a big name 'hotty-wood' actor in some role reversal and either emphasize his looks or down-play him to make him the geeky guy, with the optional factor of making him bang Melissa-McCarthy.
I've still got no hope for this.
I see what you did thereIs uh, Thor going to this party?
