I grabbed some tickets to one of the Toronto dates thanks to this thread reminding me to check for tickets. We are lucky to get two shows in Toronto but tickets for shows still go fast. I feel lucky. I can't wait for October!

Managed to snag tickets to the Orlando show thanks to this thread bump.

Super excited, haven't gotten a chance to see them live yet.

Got Charlotte tickets with the code from preordering my vinyl a couple weeks back. Pissed that they aren't coming to Raleigh after they sold out their show here in 2014, but whatever. 2 hour drive ain't no thing, especially since my friends who managed to see them last year said their live performance is great.

Only a matter of time before CVRCHES seriously breaks out and becomes mainstream. Their music is so strong!

I don't think Lauren ages at all. She looks like she still in her teens!

I like the song a lot, but not a fan of this video. It lacks the style of their past videos and is just a bunch of Glamour footage of Lauren. The guys are barely in it.
That's a good thing. Their goofy bopping during live performances is so distracting that I can't think of anything else when I see them.

Are there official lyrics to We Sink anywhere? The lyric sites all have very clear errors so I know they came from somebody's ears.

There is an official lyric video.

I don't see it anywhere. I see lots of fan videos, FIFA seems to match my ear the best but I was looking for something more certain. The thing bugging me is the chorus "we sink, we lift our love" which seems right to me but I hear an "S" after/under it so I've never made mind up between "love" and "lives".

She had the balls to stand up to misogynistic piece of shit jerks on the internet back in 2013, so now she just gets trolled all the time. Just like all the other known women who dare to fight back against rape threats or casual sexism.

Yeah, I know she's spoken out about that before, and it's great that she does. 4chan is absolutely disgusting and full of nothing but garbage about "what they would do to her" right now.

or maybe its a site that has a huge amount of people on it and its a vocal minority that says stuff like that

#NotAll4Chaners

This. You're basically going "#NotAllMen" here. I mean there's clearly a fucking problem when I can look at 4chan and see three threads in a row that were a picture of Lauren Mayberry with "What would you do to her?" followed by descriptions of how they would rape her. It's filled with this garbage every day.

I've really liked this band for quite a while, but the two new tracks sound kind of formulaic and uninspiring to me.

The verses in Leave a Trace are great, but everything else on either of the tracks seems forced.

I always liked Chvrches's schtick--if you want to call it that--of taking vocal samples and using them percussively because Lauren's voice works amazing with that kind of thing. However I feel like on these two tracks I'm listening to slightly different melodic incarnations of Lauren's highly reverb-wet main vocals on top of a minimalistic beat with percussive vocal samples ... again.

I also feel like the two new songs are, lyrically, essentially the same thing. Generally meaningless meandering about a significant other in the verses, and then a chorus where she's convincing herself whoever this person is basically sucks at being a man.

Hopefully the rest of the album has some different vibes to it.

Of course there's going to be lots of threads right after Mayberry herself called them out. Sure, there's a problem and I think its fair to say that 4chan has more of these type of people than normal, but generalizing a website on the internet is stupid, especially since 4chan has many different subcommunities

as i said, vocal minority, thousands upon thousands use that site and not all use /mu/

Many people on 4chan has always found Lauren to be attractive, but as always, it's 4chan so those type of posters and threads are bound to appear. She probably should of addressed it more specifically rather than 4chan as a whole.

Is it victim-blaming if I say there's no point in trying to stop misogyny of 4chan?

You could change the entire world and bring misogyny down to a fraction of what it is today, and these threads on 4chan would still look exactly the same. As a habitat, it will always bring out the worst in people, even if those bad sides are non-existant otherwise.

Good of her to never quiet down, but fighting 4chan head-on is like trying to take down a brick-house with nothing but your fists.
