Clip from the Terminator 2 remaster.

The latest is the remastered, yes. It got a re-release in 2015 that's usually $5 at any local retailer (Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etcetera). I see it all of the time.

Here's a comparison I posted in another thread of the DVD, first Blu-ray release, and the remastered Blu-ray.
Here's a comparison between the DVD, original Blu-ray, and the latest Blu-ray release of The Terminator. It shows how much good a new transfer can do for a movie.

Here's the DVD version of The Terminator (upscaled to 1080p):

Whomever thought it was a good idea to do a exclusive AMC release is crazy. Nothing but old rundown Carmikes in my area.

Put an Amazon order in for the arm set. I can always cancel it later.

Thanks, KDash31987. I'll be grabbing that for sure. Will also track down a version with the original colours too I think.

Just want to point out, that The Terminator is less hot and more tealy on/in the theatrical prints. I grew up with the home video look like most people, but when watching a theatrical print I picked up on the difference in color.

So the new release might be more correct in reference to the original source.

Very interesting, I'm grabbing the T1 remaster and the optimum T2 blu-ray release, for now, should hold me over until the new T2 transfer. The optimum version has grain but is only the extended cut, no theatrical which is a bummer.

Shit, no mono soundtrack on the T1 remaster? guess I'll be re-buying it if (when?) it gets another re-release!

Thanks, Spirtual_Chaos.

Damn it was so good to see this in theaters. Image was crystal clear and not so teal like in the promo shots.

Great to see a timeless classic like this in theaters.

Just came back from my screening. It's glorious!!

I was a bit worried at the start (the bit where the T1000 is first seen), so much blue on screen!!

But to experience T2 on the big screen again, for the first time since I was 9 years old was just amazing. Still prefer the original film (better story line!), but T2 is a fantastic film.

I do kind of wish they just did the ultimate/special edition (but I guess they can remaster that in 3D on T2's 30th anniversary $$$$$$ haha).

Wait what, it was the theatrical cut? I thought they were going to show the SE.

I didn't realize it was AMC only until I just searched for showings... Ugh. There are like 5 Harkins and an Alamo all closer than the nearest AMC, which is in a kind of crappy area. That sucks. :\

There is one close to my campus that's really nice (huge leather, fully reclining seats), but the campus is like 40 min from my house and going after class means my girlfriend couldn't make it and I don't really do movies alone (unless it's Jurassic Park, lol).

Yep, no Michael Biehn dream sequence, none of the mini changes (like seeing the T1000 malfunction and John noticing the T1000's feet in the final act).

Okey. I prefer the TC so wouldn't be a problem for me. Only addition I would have kept in the TC is the malfunctioning of the T-1000 in the mill in the end.

Saw it tonight. Wasn't quite what I was hoping for initially as the picture looked like this:
But after a minute or so the staff paused it, fixed the issue and restarted it. Along with an apology came free tickets, which was awesome.

I thought the 3D worked really well in the film, especially loved the effect with the slow zoom on the endoskeleton in the opening. The picture quality was great, super sharp and I thought the grading was good throughout, though i'm not an expert in what it 'should' look like. Had a lot of fun!

Watching tomorrow evening, gonna be a good time.

Lousy that it's only in a few theatres and two showtimes each.

Disappointed that this seems to be playing in the smallest auditoriums at all my local theaters. Was hoping to see this on a really large screen.

I wish they released this movie for more than a week. LAME.

SHIT. I thought this wasnt out until October, I gotta get my shit together. When did it release and when does it leave theatres? I cant do it tomorrow night, can't do it sunday, maybe Saturday and maybe Wednesday. I have to squeeze this in somewhere.

I didn't know it was just a single week. Didn't figure it's been around long, though. Was going to see it Sunday but now we are going out to dinner for my brother in law's birthday. Hopefully catch it on Wednesday.

I'm thinking my $20mil estimate was wildly overpredicted.

1 week, 1 chain, 3D only?

Yeah, I fucked that one up.

That whole Wonder Woman thing is probably not helping the marketing, either.

I'm checking online at AMC's site, and it says there are no AMC theaters in a 50 mile radius of Portland (or Saint Helens, for that matter). WTF

Does this expand to other chains later?
There's marketing for the T2 release?

Wow, that's a lot of time and money for such a brief, limited release. It's not like anybody is still making 3D TVs anymore either, so it seems like such a waste to make this 3D version

Are you guys sure its just a week and not amc-exclusive-only for a week?

Cuz I got a showing at an alamo drafthouse for next weekend on september 3rd. Maybe other theatres haven't updated their showings yet.

Checking this out next Tuesday. Sad it's not the Special Edition.

I wonder if the 4K release will include the extended version.

I hadn't heard it until the person here said it. No clue if it's correct or not, or where they got it from.

I wanted to catch the movie tonight, but I can wait for Sunday. I can't can't bring anything to get fucked up with at work anyways.

Can't wait for 3 days to pass.
