Clueless Gamer: Conan Reviews "The Witcher: Wild Hunt"

No way that's the actual console version, looks way too good!

Conan sold me on the game tho, ill definitely grab this day 1

a biyt too spoilery since i was trying to get to the game knowing as less as possible..but it was worth for the good laugh

Is anyone else blown away at the fact that we live in a world where Conan is playing a Witcher game on tv? (not sure if they even air on his show or if they are just a website/youtube thing but you get the point right?)

The series has come a long way. They deserve the success and the spotlight. Hope it sells well!

Clueless Gamer is always aired on his show before they upload it online.

It was funny, but too much focus on the "I want to have sex" joke. It reduces opportunities for other ones, like how ridiculous the names in fantasy stories can be. Or the chicken sandwich.
And I'd like to play a game with Conan doing the voices. ^_^
Are the black bars on breasts ingame, or were they added for TV ?

So, any confirmation on this being actual Xbox One footage? Because if they are playing on an Xbox One controller and showing the Xbox One case, then playing on a pc would be a disgusting thing to do.

Not having been previously on my radar, what other games would you compare the Witcher to?

is it overwhelmingly open-world like Skyrim? Insofar that open world exploration deflates the impact of the actual main storyline?

Who cares really ? Just laugh at the jokes...

The first two games had hub areas and a small amount of exploration on the side, the areas are divided in to chapters and are dense with quests and characters.

This one is supposed to be leaning more in to the open world style.

It's the first in the series to go open world so it's hard to gauge exactly until we've got it in our hands. The series is generally a lot more story heavy than Elder Scrolls so I wouldn't expect it to be too similar there.

They're using Gothic 1 and 2 as comparisons a lot.

For a more mainstream comparison it seems like the open world of Skyrim with quests more like Dragon Age Origins.

I think Conan just sold me on this but i also bought Dragon Age which i thought was horribly boring. Are they comparable?

Does anyone knows who pays for this feature? Microsoft or CDP?

probably both..no reason to show the xbone case so prominently if microsoft was not involved..but at the same time i don't understand why paying to highlight a game that it's not an exclusive

it's more like it's divided in areas and withing these areas you can move freely sandbox style from what i heard..at least it was as such in witcher 2

Because a lot of people don't really follow this stuff closely and see X game only ever being advertised by X system and think it's only coming to X system. I knew a handful of people that thought Destiny was a PS4 exclusive, for instance.

Same in reverse, a friend of mine was about to buy an Xbox One because she thought The Witcher was exclusive to it. I had to show her the preorder page on PSN before she believed me.

Dragon Age Inquisition sadly suffered from poor repetitive fetch quests, real shame, could have been a good game if it was more focused.

Witcher 3 has so many things its doing infinitely better, it would almost be a disservice to compare the two.

If you have never played a Witcher game, you will be in for a real treat, you really have no idea what you are in for.

Conan (and Andy) voiced an NPC in Halo 4, if that counts. Also the censors were for TV.

Interesting, On what platform did you play W3?

Nope it was actually pc gameplay, confirmed by Damien Monnier via Twitter, apparently the footage was made "a while ago" and it was "an old pc build", https://mobile.twitter.com/Bacon_is_life/status/596564841554386944

So still no Xbox one footage...

haha they took the photo post-unicorn :D

I liked that he made fun of all of the talking. One of the funniest I've seen of these.

Yeah just as I was starting to think of how much I get sick of a lot of the boring talking in fantasy rpgs then he made a joke about how much they talk in this game

Yeah this seems to confirm that it is running on PC. Damien Monnier was in LA about a month ago; he also did an interview with Gametrailers and he said he was travelling with a PC build.

So, playing the PC version with Xbox Controller and showing the Xbox-gamebox afterwards.
Xbox-Windows crossplay already working nicely.

Geralt butt naked on that stuffed unicorn looks so damn stupid :lol

Just rewatched at work with colleagues, also Witcher fans.. My stomach hurts from all that laughing, Conan is the best.. Everyone loved it..
Cock Blockula, happy ending, dat payoff :D

I was fairly certain that it was PC gameplay, but with relatively low quality videos it's not always so easy to tell.

Anyway, I kind of enjoyed seeing it off-screen, since it gives me a sense of how it will look while playing it in person.

It was an Xbox 360 controller so Def PC.

But that Canned laughter = cringe and off, hate that stuff why is that even done now....ugghhh!!
it's not canned laughter. the segment is played in front of an audience.
I've been to a conan show when he was in chicago, they show recorded events on a big screen to the audience and the crowds really do crack up like that.
though I will say that while we were waiting in line outside, they had us cheer before the show and they ran along us with a recording microphone to record our cheers, and edited that in for the tv broadcast when conan came on stage. but the reason they did that wasn't because nobody was cheering in the theater,(the audience was actually going nuts when he came out) but becauce the acoustics of theater sucked for recording the crowd's reaction, and if they didn't record us beforehand it would have seemed really quiet when he came on stage in the broadcast. I guess it's possible that they also enhance the sound of laughing by making it louder a little bit for the viewers watching at home, but I doubt it's some kind of misrepresentation of what it sounds like while sitting in the audience
edit- man posting with the wii u pad takes forever

Thought it was OK at best. But I've been watching a lot of great Conan Stuff on Youtube lately, so maybe that's why.
