He is conveying to the layman audience the type of graphical output the 3DS is capable of. Most potential consumers have an idea what a PS3 is capable of (due to commercials, etc.). The title of this thread is a gross misinterpretation designed to get a rise out of people.

On top of the 3D, the actual graphics are pretty good, a lot better than the [?] dated stuff you saw on previous Nintendo game devices. Definitely not Playstation 3 quality, for instance, but they've definitely reached a point where even hardcore gamers... like me, for instance, who grew up on Halo, won't mind playing around with this thing.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this paragraph, when looking through the lens of a mainstream publication. These are the reference points that most consumers can relate to.

Just remember that for everything you see and experience outside the world of gaming, there are experts in that field, and a handful of those experts are probably on a forum somewhere laughing at your puny knowledge. Imagine their conversations.

there is a difference between "sustainable digital downloading" and "unsustainable digital downloading" he is not saying DD as a whole is unsustainable(at least I hope he's not) that would just be stupid to say.

But yeah, the way i put it left it open to interpretation depending on how you parse "unsustainable".

I do mean the free/$1 model. And with bandwidth caps, I venture to guess DD as the sole business model will be severely restrictive especially in the high bandwidth space of video and games.

People forget the backbone of digital downloads are still the e-books and iTunes music, which are either small in size, or like itunes, have a set, low and largely stable/predictable filesize over many years.
