So you want a bunch of people to die when doctors or nurses or police or firefighters decide to take off and stick it to the government?

The Intercept really shouldn't have run that piece. What did they expect to happen?

I don't want them to die, but we kill far more people throughout the course of the year. And we have for a long time. Tens of thousands of people die unnecessarily every year in the US. The more time we waste ignoring that fact and standby letting it happen the worse things are going to get. Trump is our president for a reason. And unless we change course drastically he will be followed by worse.

An organized strike is not like the purge. What the heck?
Edit: What should be done is to target a number of people to sign up to strike. Something ambitious like 50 million. Then hold a strike drive every month where people recommit until the knowledge of it spreads and the target is reached. Then set the dates and put the strike into action.
What do you think is going to happen if emergency services go down for an entire day?

They die everyday. When will we have had enough? The chief exports of this country are instruments of death. Killing innocent people is something this country makes money from.

Reality winner sure does sound like it's the anti trump.
This; her heart appeared to be in the right place. She fucked up and very well might have damaged the ongoing investigation, and that's serious, but the instinct to want to do something in the face of what Trump's administration wants to turn the country into, is incredibly easy to sympathize with.
She should have thought it through more. The Intercept should have handled it better. Any damage this does to the ongoing investigation is a negative result of her actions.
But at the end of the day, the instinct that led her down the wrong path is sympathetic and I can get the appeal of feeling like there's a way to stand up to the ongoing horror show that is the Trump administration. She fucked up, but she's going to be punished for the wrong things as Trump will want her to be an example of the dangers of disloyalty.

You clearly didn't read the intercept article, because it absolutely compromises the IC's currently ongoing investigation into how far the Russians got into our voting systems.
My second post better explains what I mean. Like I'm sure she THOUGHT she was helping the fight against Trump and the Russians, but if you actually read the intercept article you can tell that the IC were still actively investigating this, which means that this leaking hurt that investigation.

You want innocent people to die. That's a thing you actually desire. It's completely indefensible.
My understanding is that emergency services were still available during that strike, and notably when the terror attacks happened they suspended their strike to provide emergency aide.
You proposed EVERYONE go on strike and when it was pointed out that EVERYONE striking at once would kill people took a "worth it" approach. Shit needs to change, yes, but we can do better than putting people at risk because blanket statements are easier than nuance.

If you want everyone to go on strike at the same time, including emergency personnel, you necessarily want people to die for lack of those services. It's a package deal. If I want to remove the wing of the plane in flight I also want everyone on board to die in the inevitable crash. It's both or none.

Okay, so 50 million people. Surely that would include people who work at power plants that provide power to hospitals, IT workers that maintain electronic paperwork/charts, custodial staff to sanitize, food service workers to feed patients and doctors, and so on.
50 million would surely affect some of this support staff.
