CoD 4 beta information (maps, weapons, perks, etc.)

I hope that grenade launcher attachment isn't as lame as I could see it being in MP matches...

Also, fix the damn sniper, I remember in CoD2 you could run around without zooming in and one shot people easier than shooting the other guns. :lol
Rifles are all I ever use in CoD :P. One of my gripes with CoD2 was how much easier they were to use.

As for the grenade launcher, I definitely understand your worries. Let's hope they find a way to balance it out nicely. I'm pretty sure you have to drop a perk to use it judging by this image:

I just remember the weapons that had grenade launchers in Socom 2, it was stupid. Different games I know, but still.

GRAW1 and 2 had the same problems, thats why every game had explosives turned off.

I think BF2 had some issues with nade launchers too, and I'm sure there are more games out there. An instant kill explosive weapon you can switch to on the fly can tend to be unbalanced. It'll all depend on how IW implements it.

I hope this worth the effort and confusion. What they should do is attach the beta to a mediocre new game, that way any old 12 year old crybaby can get in. :D

Easiest way to balance grenade launchers is to look at reality. The M203 doesn't arm until it reaches a certain range (I think something like 70ft, but I could be wrong). That makes it a good secondary weapon that is deadly at a medium range, but not something you use up close.

Shit. I totally missed that they were keeping tally of answering trivia questions.

Does accumulating monthly points actually count towards getting a Beta invite? I can't seem to find any info on their site or forums that says so.

The monthly points go toward prizes, like a PS3 and Call of Duty 4 branded swag for August.

The Beta token will be first come first served. I fear for this beta token process, though. CharlieOscarDelta is already crashing, and the countdown hasn't even started. There's going to be tears and bloodshed.

Bah.. I'm not even registered for the site yet so I doubt I could get into the beta with the site getting hammered. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait it out for the release.
