cod was down to number 5 on the top ten list last year. its no longer as popular as it once was.

Only because Blops 7 was the worst reviewed. In every single way it was a rushed game when they first planned to skip a year. Nothing about it is good and it still sells. MW4 will put it back on top without a doubt.

It depends on what you are buying it for. If you only play campaign and zombies it's fine to wait. If you play Multiplayer then day one.

Problem with Multiplayer is if you play old games you mostly have hardcore players left. Makes it not fun and unbalanced with one sided matches all the time.

I'm hoping DMZ is behind the paywall this time. I loved the first DMZ and probably played that the most, out of all modern warfare 2 modes.

But mw3 made me realise that there is no point going early and dropping real money, when you are months and many previews away from launch. Altough mw3 was mainly sledgehammer and this is back to iw as the main studio.

I don't like black ops, so wouldn't mind playing cod for the first time in years (since being burned with how disappointing mw3 felt for me). The first two black ops were fairly great. But for me, it was during the second game. That the studio started jumping the shark with both the campaign and the crazy future tech. I even tried the Cold War cold from around mw3 time, but it felt like a poor copy of the first black ops, but nowhere near as well done

The campaign graphically looks amazing, or what they seem to be going for. Having loved the mad, crazy campaigns in the original 3 modern warfare games. I am down for some more Michael bay style action . Will be good to see some more and gameplay from that Korean city scape

I wish they'd go back to WW2 COD, that sound of the M1 Garand Ping as the clip is expelled just cant be beat, but WW2 period in general is just more appealing to me, modern FPS warfare isn't my thing.

I was a beast with DP28 and Lewis in WaW and WWII.

Is this one coming to Switch 2? If so, they will have finally brought the franchise back to Nintendo just when I am going into a season of life where I will have no time to play online FPS again (having our first kid, so I'm not mad about it, lol).

On topic, I have no idea what's going on for the main characters, but the setting is interesting, and the premise is cool (and more believable than I would have thought pre-Russia/Ukraine).

COD feels more like Quake III Arena than a war game.

Biggest compliment for any first person shooter that isn't "open world" although I would argue that the current mechanics work fine on a big map like Verdansk

This might be a hot take, but I binged a bunch of post-PS360 CoD campaigns last year and the one that really stuck out to me and nailed it's look, both in graphics, lighting, cinematography, color grading, and artstyle, was CoD WW2.

It felt like they were truly trying to accomplish that war movie look and mostly succeeded.

with accurate hipfire it's not really spray and pray then tho is it?

spray and pray is specifically a thing in games with low accuracy and a high amount of random spread... because you spray your bullets around and pray that you hit something.

like, if I hipfire with an AR in a game like Splitgate 2 or Halo 3, my accuracy is nearly the same as when I ADS... so it's just aiming normally in that game basically, ads in that case is just a slower sensitivity toggle (of course Halo 3 doesn't even have ADS with the AR, but with the BR or sniper, but same concept... I can in theory hipfire with my Sniper in Halo 3 across the map with near perfect accuracy)

I would like to know if all of the explosions are supposed to be artillery fire as North Korea has a ton of artillery trained on Seoul. It didn't look like it. Other than that, and the nukes, I can't really take them too seriously as a "big threat" in media anymore other than to South Korea.

For me, accurate hip fire spray and pray means ADS not needed anymore. More people will be running around not even bothering to ADS anymore, even from long distance. Just hold down the fire button at any distance hipfiring.
