Yeah...I mean it's not, actually. This is the best soda regardless of container.

Yep hard to top this

You know that "Mexican coke" is a complete myth and placebo right?

No it's not? The Coke that's imported into the US from Mexico is made with cane sugar instead of HFCS. There's an obvious taste difference and that's why people like it.

Not all Coke in Mexico is made with cane sugar, but the stuff that we import is.

My sister has stomach problems when she has regular coke but can tolerate Mexican coke just fine. I always buy some specifically for her when she's going to visit.

Here's your list of best ways to drink a Coke

Good Fountain
Glass bottle
Can
Plastic bottle
Bad fountain

A good quality fountain coke (not 99% water) is fucking fabulous. I don't care if it eats away at my body, its too good.

I agree, i definitely feel it has more gas than the others, the shorter i can drink withouth crying the better.

I hate the aftertaste of regular coke. The best I can describe it is metallic. It's amplified when from a can. My teeth almost feel like they have gristle in them as well. If I accidentally grind them, I feel like I'm chewing on tinfoil.

I do like Coke Zero though.

Coke out of a plastic bottle is just gross. They get warm too fast, lack fizz and have a weird aftertaste. I don't know why people drink them

Why does Coca Cola taste better from a glass bottle than a can? Science has the answer.

The recipe for Coca Cola is the same whether it's in a metal can or a glass bottle - so why does the latter taste so much better?
According to biochemist and founder of Science by Design Sara Risch, it's because of the liquid reacting with polymers in the packaging.
Polymers are the molecules inside packaging - themselves built from smaller units strung together - and add properties to the material they are used in.
In the case of aluminium cans, the polymers lining the packaging may absorb some of the soluble flavour from the drink.
"While packaging and food companies work to prevent any interactions, they can occur," explained Risch.
Meanwhile the polymer acetaldehyde, which is used in plastic bottles, could transfer into the coke inside the bottle, subtly altering its flavour.
And even though food standards agencies regulate the contact between food and its packaging, there are tiny amounts that could get through according to Popular Science .
According to Risch, glass is the most inert substance used for packaging and therefore gives the most unaltered drinking experience.
Of course, no matter which type of packaging you prefer your Coke in, the health risks are still the same.

Fun Fact: "Mexican Coke" (or the one actually sold in the rest of the American continent) is basically the original Coke formula. Before the Coke II fiasco, it had sugar.

So enjoy your "close but not the original thing" HFCS Coke.

Not true. They use cane sugar.

But I think I read that they changed that recently. I think...

The sugar in mexican coke is not the main thing that make it taste different, it's more likely something to do with slightly different ingredient sourcing or blending. For example mexican squirt has some unpleasant perfumey notes totally missing from the US stuff in cans. How long its been sitting on the shelf and how much it's been exposed to temperature changes also affects the flavor more than you'd think.

What is this fountain people kept mentioning?

Coke zero is my drink of choice, I used to really like the one with lime but I haven't seen it for ages

There's something about the carbonation and sugar in the Mexican Coke that fills me up really fast and I want less of what I'm eating at the moment as well as less of the Coke. On the other hand, if I let myself, I can drink two cans of the American stuff or more and end up eating even more too.

Mexican Coke is great in all aspects.
