Don't panic! Some say we never change, but I don't think that's true. The more you listen to them, the more you will feel the sparks of interest starting to form, like a whisper in your head saying, "It's OK to not be so indie and admit that Coldplay songs make me shiver because of their beauty." You may be frightened, may think this is a warning sign of trouble ahead -- maybe some spies (with some help from the scientist and his gadgets) are planting thoughts in your head? But there's no need for paranoia...it's just the inevitable acceptance that Coldplay ROCKS. Everything's not lost. We won't think any differently of you -- and besides, it's only music, y'know? We need star power to come in and complete the cycle.kablooey said:I'm worried that I'm slowly becoming as cynical as mr. bell woods.![]()
I've heard the new single...and it works excellently as music to put me to sleep. Even when I'm not sleepy though. It's got nothing to do with their image or anything like that, it's just that the music isn't edgy enough, and "Speed of Sound" especially doesn't really go anywhere. Not to mention the fact that it sounds disturbingly similar to "Clocks", and the cheesy, faux-uplifting lyrics grate the nerves. Blah to that I say.
haha.Foreign Jackass said:Speed of Sound is rather boring. I was expecting something supposedly DIFFERENT, and EDGY, that's what they told NME. This isn't EDGY, this is adult rock.
What does that mean?enjoy bell woods said:Coldplay is easy listening music that people have fooled themselves into thinking is cool.
I suppose I don't understand what "cool music" is and how Coldplay does not qualify.enjoy bell woods said:It means exactly what it says, bro.

I still don't really get what the correct reference means, though.
