You can tell who's just having fun at the expense of Codemasters and who is trying to get some potshots against the Wii in. :lol

Wow.. need to play this
you'll also need a one-of-a-kind ps2 to play this at this level of exhibited bullshotness. for starters, that ps2 will need to be able to do infinite antialiasing.

the unibrow trolling in this thread is amusing. let's see how far it can go.

I don't play games for aliasing, I play for the experience they offer. Driving around Nurburgring in the snow.. Gran Turismo's Tokyo stages or Special Stage route 5 at night.

This screenshot looks like it offers something I haven't seen before in a racing game. Hope this helps. Oh it's on xbox too.

Rallisport Challange was an original Xbox franchise. I don't know if that shot was touched up or not (it's only 600px Ă— 450px image) but I know the game definitely looks incredible.

...there are bumps and ridges all over the place that can affect your grip and knock you off-course...
...there's also a Championship tournament mode and the usual Time Trial options you'd expect in a game like this...
There's also split-screen multiplayer for up to four players at once, though it's yet to be confirmed whether there'll be online multiplayer yet.
There's also an interesting Challenges mode where you can take part in various different tests over four difficulty levels.
There's also a powerslide challenge...
...there's also Nintendo 64 quality graphics...

Can someone point me in the direction of the video game "journalist" correspondence course this guy took? It's hard times and I'm looking to make some extra money freelancing. Obviously writing ability is not prereq.

Wait I though this was a joke or something. These are really screen shots from the Wii version? I honestly thought they were from an N64 version that was unreleased. Then I realized that Dirt 2 is a new game and not out yet...:lol

There's also "journalist for dummies" you can always read.

There's also the option to make your own blog.

This thread makes me sad for one thing.

Screw you MS for not making Rallisport Challenge 2 backwards compatible with the 360.

I totally forgot: Codemasters is also releasing that butt ugly F1 2009 title on Wii.

Codemasters racing on Wii: double shit am total

i somehow read the original shot post as being from one of the previous collin mcrae installments. my bad.

as for actual rsc2 shots - check those posted by Faceless Master earlier in the thread. game looks good but definitely does not feature the massive AA and AF of Speevy's bullshot.

It still was a mighty fine looking game. I so would like to see a new one.

I just played the game about a week ago. Those are some modest screenshots. Some of the hillclimb/forest stuff is incredible. Not to mention 60 FPS.

the trailer makes the game look better providing it's the video with the vaseline filter and not the game. really with developers would drop split screen as it limits what can be done visually. we have online for a reason.

There has to be some kind of inside joke in the Wii development community about who can get the shittiest looking game published. There's no other explanation.
I think it's more who can get the worst looking game to sell a million first. Once that's happened, they have proof positive that all Wii consumers are fucking morons.

I'm ashamed to even post this, but I stared at the pictures for about five minutes thinking, wow that looks good for an n64 game. Then another five minutes thinking why the hell are they releasing dirt 2 on n64. Unbelievable.

......

You need to go to your room and think about what you've done.

I'm confused at how Nintendo sites just seemingly accept these graphics. The article doesn't mention the graphics at all, you'd at least think they'd put in some line like "yeah the graphics are shit but graphics ain't everything" Even odder none of the comments adress the said elephant in the room. WTF did I just step back into 1996 or something?

I'm really going to be honest but I only clicked on the pics and not the link at first, and I really did think that was a N64 game. Until I scrolled down some more and realize that the posts were sarcasm and checked out the link to the article. :lol =/

i like how the back of the wheel is just solid.

also, the rims are just a transparent texture -- they have zero depth (look at rear left wheel and how you can see under the car from that angle... through the tire).

After watching the trailer, it doesn't look that bad for me, surely some locations need work, but definitely this isn't the worst looking game on Wii.

Did we look at the same trailer?

Up until the :21 mark, I didn't think it looked too bad. After that... oh dear.

It seriously looked like an unfinished game. 6 triangle stand-in trees, missing dust and snow effects, blurry bitmap (or non-existant) sky, very low geometry levels, low resolution textures.

That video is something that should be a proof of concept, not marketing material to people who've played Mario Kart and Excitetruck.

They have a few months before it 'goes gold', but man. I'm not very optimistic.

This is, without question, the worst looking game on any console ever (for it's time). I can't think of a single game that has seriously looked like it could have appeared on the prior-prior generation of hardware.
