Excuses and hive mind?
Yup! Excuses showed up with Ess Eee See SPEED!

But if you're going to chant "Fuck SEC" or whatever, you should probably not do so after what happened on New Year's Day in which that conference was reamed by the SEC.
B1G sucks too, what now?

Buckeye fans can thank me. I switched my pick from Ohio State (7 points) to Arky (for 29 points) a few days ago.

I have that kind of luck to influence outcomes of games.

:lol :lol :lol WTF at all the excuses from the SEC fans. Lots of butt hurt going around hear tonight.
I think it is more about mitigating any pleasure OSU fans may derive from this win because many of us feel cheated out of a more epic ending.

I almost feel bad for the people that incessantly and relentlessly hate on the Big 10 (or any other conference) so much. They seem so emotionally unstable regarding their hatred for some basically meaningless sports conference, you have to wonder if they have some deeper psychological problem.

What is it about college football that makes people so absurdly obsessed with conference pissing contests? You don't see this kind of nonsense in the NFL, MLB, NHL etc. regarding divisions/conferences. Pro sports fans really just care about their TEAM, not the damn league their team plays in, outside of your common "we have some tough division games this year" or whatever.
It goes back to the saying, "College football isn't a national sport, it's a regional sport that's big in every region.

Blame the genesis on fans chanting "ES-EEE-SEE" at bowl games instead of always cheering for their team only. Other conference fans have been dragging their feet, but it still slowly catching on. If you really can't stand it that much root for ND and BYU.

Personally I think the roller coaster way it ended was perfect. Fail followed by Fail!

Ohio State now a redemptive 1-10 against the SEC in bowl games.

Still, Alabama has some sort of similar record against Texas, doesn't bother me any after last January.

No doubt, but there aren't enough arkansas fans here for the kind of bitter tears we would have gotten if the game went the other way. :D

What was the over/under? curious.

Even if Arkansas is 3rd or 4th in some warped mind, they were the 2nd best matchup to Ohio State. LSU would have crumbled on offense. Mallett at least could throw in the face of pressure.

Joe Adams and the 2 idiots on punt returns probably feel like hell right now.

But...fuck you Bobby Petrino! You're a coward and a dick. The Senator defended good in the face of evil!

I'm almost glad we lost to Wisconsin.

We would have gotten destroyed in the MNC.

OSU would have been the odd man out of they went undefeated. No way the voters put them in over Oregon or Auburn.

Most likely, and I couldn't really have blamed them for it.

But again, it's amazing that we only ended up with one loss, what with all the injuries and the terrible special teams and the general fucked-up-ness of the season.

For what it's worth, Ohio State now has more BCS wins than any other program, and an overall BCS record of 6-3.

Yes, we fucked up in epic fashion in two of the three losses, but I'm pretty damn proud of that record.

0 points in the 2nd half. Tressel ball at its best.

Question for you Bert: what's your take on Tyrelle? He's shown up big in BCS bowl games, but he behaves like a dick on the field with his jawing and behaves like an idiot off the field with his comments and obviously breaking those rules.

Totally not representative of the Senator's Ohio State team in my mind, right?

He's an infuriating little asshole, quite frankly.

He's crazy talented, but too damn stupid to reach his full potential. The off-the-field antics don't help either. It will be interesting to see how he's remembered at OSU. Very mixed, I would think.

Ohio State deserved to win because Arkansas fans brought those "how sooieet it is" signs. That's worse than "geaux Tigers."
You obviously have never been tortured by the sounds of "woo pig sooie."

I love that my Facebook news feed is largely SEC fans making fun of Arkansas. Truly the red-headed stepchild of the conference. :lol

As a reminder, this asshole left his team out to dry with three games left. He didn't tell any of his players or coaches face-to-face, he left this note in their lockers and on their desks instead.

Mike Zimmer, current Bengals DC, a guy that's been around the league for a while (Dallas, Atlanta) and has a good reputation called him a "gutless bastard" with good reason.

So, justice is a dish best served cold, Bobby. In this case, a pick thrown in the red zone...after your players missed an opportunity to pick the ball up and walk into the endzone, considering the worst that could happen is an Ohio State player falls on it, marking the play dead.

Thank you, Senator.

Hell Yeah!

I've only been following OSU for about 5 years and have really enjoyed it. How can you not be proud of a team that has one a share of its conference title and played in a BCS bowl game each of those years?

The loss to Florida sucked, but I was only a rookie fan with little invested. I thought we were going to smoke them after watching how well we played that year. The Game against #2 Michigan was epic.

The following year we lost to LSU in a bowl game we shouldn't have even been in. How we ended up in the MNC that year still blows my mind. If I remember correctly in the last week everyone above us in the rankings lost and we shot up even though we didn't play.

3 point loss to Texas in the '09 Fiesta bowl sucked. But we played well, no shame in losing to McCoy's Longhorns that year.

Rose bowl was pretty nice. Although it led to some pretty lofty and unmet expectations for this year. We are the last team to have beaten Oregon.

Today's game was great. I think we could have done better, but we won and I'm happy. How many bowl games have had a fuble recovered for a TD, a safety, and a blocked punt followed by a game ending interception? If you didn't enjoy this game, stop watching football.

Go BUCKS!

Even though OSU has benefited greatly from the current BCS scheme. I would be overjoyed if we moved to a playoff system.

Surprised that the Buckeyes won, but man those receivers were making Pryor look good. He wasn't throwing particularly well, but they made some outstanding catches. Really incredible.

And in sharp contrast, Arkansas receivers couldn't catch anything that hit them in the numbers. Really changed the game. One or two catches instead of dropped balls and we're looking at a different outcome.

Anyway, congrats to the Buckeyes for finally getting that monkey at least mostly off their back!

well, mallett does have that laser arm, so some of his throws may be a bit difficult to catch because of their speed. obviously some of the drops today were just awful though. the biggest problem tOSU had as i saw it was the lack of a non-pryor running game. herron was shitty from start to finish and had some dumb mental mistakes as well.

Pretty much par for the season. Pryor makes a garbage pass a lesser WR would not even attempt to catch, Sanzenbacher catches it like it was a well thrown ball.

I wonder if any of the players banned from Ohio State will bolt for the NFL now. They aren't under contract with Tressel or anything to stay. It would be a dick move but if Pryor is so desperate for money that he sells his game memorabilia, I don't think he'd feel bad about leaving Ohio State to make some money in the NFL
