I can't believe the refs didn't flag that one. Horrible ending to this game.
Watch it again. 49 for UNC is blocking and shoves 42 to the ground, and he happens to land right on the receiver.

Is there no runoff rule in college football? A penalty within 2 minutes results in a 10 second runoff if the clock is running.

WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Really good job by the officials though. Outside of the missed late hit they got it completely correct in the end.

"THE GAME IS OVER!" :lol

Man, Dooley's reactions to everything happening in this game are killing me. Please someone gif them into a montage, it will be gold for next year's E3 megaton threads. :lol

They didn't. They spiked it in time.

There were too many people on the field. They were assessed a penalty. It is bullshit that they were allowed to extend the game but being penalized. If they had waited till everyone was off the field time would have expired.

Was the penalty not assessed on the ensuing play?

But, yes, I agree, this situation is exactly why there's a runoff rule in the NFL.

Exactly. This is complete and utter bullshit that they are allowed to do that.

Can't say UNC didn't deserve that fg though. Would have been more time on the clock too after the other catch/first down/spike but that wasn't spotted.

There is no clock run off in college so you could always do that but most people don't want to give up the 5 yards.

Yes they were moved back 5. Complete bullshit.

Edit: I know there isn't a runoff and it bullshit that there isn't.
