Well, this is gawd damn awful. I didn't think we would really be in this game, but Alabama is fucking tolling us right now. Marcus Hyde is useless, Don Treadwell is the worst offensive coordinator ever, and Alabama could puts their reserves in and run the score up. How the fuck do we go 11-1 and draw arguably a top 5 team in a non-bcs bowl game? I didn't expect to win, but cmon man

Woot! Took a couple hours for them to get the hang of the dual-freshman-QB lineup, but Northwestern has somehow pulled to within 7 of Texas Tech with a 4th down 30 yard pass.

10 minutes to end a 61 year bowl drought. Go Cats!

Penn St. lost 24-3 at the beginning of the season. I really thought things would be closer in this game.

Yeah Colter should get the reps over Watkins. Watkins would fill in better on a different offensive scheme as he's slow as a runner but has a power arm.

The offense is actually OK.

I just don't understand the inexplicable breakdown of the defense midseason and now postseason. What happened? Does the coaching staff need to be fired or was losing Corey Wooten that detrimental to the team?

Either way, I didn't expect a win before the game, so if anything needs to be said, something has to be done about this defense.
To answer your question, I think their schedule made them look better on D than they really were. Add that last year, Wooton's ability to fly from side to side of the field made the other guys up front look good (and helped them build some solid stats). I'm not convinced this defense has had a killer instinct at any point this season, barring maybe the annual Upset Iowa Bowl.

I don't think it's going to happen if the defense can't keep TT's offense off the field.

I, for one, welcome the start of the Jim Harbaugh era at Michigan.
You Michigan fans are so bi-polar.

"We love Rich Rod"
"Fire Rich Rod NAOW"
"Denard is great... way better than that douche Forcier"
"Fuck Denard he sucks. Get a proper QB!"

Round and round we go.

Whoever gets there will be stuck in the tough side of the league. It comes down to stealing some from Tressel once in a while. You guys have to be going ape poop during this stretch.

I'm not trying to be mean to the Michigan State fans and I really need to flip back to the UF game in a minute, but why are the starters still in? There's no real hope here. At best you might get 10 because Alabama's busy fucking around at this point.

*fake edit* Cousins is going to die if he gets hit like that again.

I wouldn't call it bi-polar, but the fan base is definitely split down the middle. Look, RR can sure coach offense but the rest of the team is a disaster and at the end of the day it falls at his feet. Penalties, turnovers, mental mistakes, execution errors plague this team throughout all 3 phases. They are simply a poor coached football team. It's time to cut our losses and move on, especially since this is likely to be our only shot at Harbaugh.

What the fuck are you talking about? No Michigan fans ever liked the Rich Rod hiring and the only person stupid enough to call for Denard's head is you.

We've been f'd the last three years, so what's the difference?

If I'm Harbaugh I'd want to see what kind of arms I have behind Denard. You need a quarterback, not an athlete, to compete consistently in the Big Ten. I would take the free pass next year when no one is going to complain no matter what the record is and rotate QB's til they find someone who can pass. It'll also showcase an actual pro-style offense that will entice blue chippers.

Denard Robinson (and Richy's offense) back there scares away quarterbacks with pro aspirations.

I'll tell you right now, Denard is probably the best passing QB on the roster. Well, there is Forcier but he's a douche. We've been recruiting run-first QBs for three years now.

I don't think MSU's offensive line likes Cousins very much.

Edit: I forget I'm 15 minutes behind here due to eating lunch during half-time.

Seeing how I live in the state, have friends that are UM fans, and been to half of the team's home games the last couple seasons, I'd say I'm an authority on the subject.

That's fair, I've just seen a lot of people go back and forth on him. Some said "ok give him another year" since he got to a bowl game, but I've seen/heard a lot of oscillation. Same with Denard's ability to be a QB.

If your friends are saying those things, you should get new friends. Although, I agree there are a lot of whiney UM fans. I think most teams have fans like that.

EDIT: OH MY GOD WE FORCED A PUNT!
