Reversed: It's "Their Offense, schedule, and a halfway decent defense"

You got me there.

Eh I dont mind the OSU unis, I just wish theyre was a grey stripe down the middle of the helmets or something. Also wtf is up with Nike's obsession with the glove patterns.

Haven't you gone 3-17 against Florida in the last 20 years?

It's in the past, man. Let's not cry over spilled milk.
Did you have to bring that up?

The series is very cyclical and prior to Spurrier, the roles were very much reversed. Richt is 2-7 against Florida. If they're going to beat them, I don't see why this wouldn't be the year. Each team has a new QB. Florida doesn't have the Mangod that tried harder than everyone else to win.

Just noticed that the hard-to-see houndstooth design is also in the white stripe on the helmet.

Yay, looks like we're in the division with the down traditional powers!

R.I.P. Land Grant Trophy. I wonder who are season ender will be against.

It's growing on me. As long as it wasn't EXTREME Houndstooth, I was alright with it.

I'd say, make the gloves a permanent feature. Like the words, the script A, and the highlights on em.

Here's the split, according to Katz:

• Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota.

• Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois.

People on Bucknuts are saying that OSU and Michigan will still be playing the last game of the regular season. As long as that's true, I guess I'm okay with it. Still, I hate that they're going ACC-style with the split. There needs to be some geographic logic to them, and this doesn't have any.

It was nice while it lasted. Paterno appreciated the support it symbolized from Mich. State when other powers in the conference were against Penn State joining.

It's better than that plan that had PSU in the west.

That's not fun, it needs more spice. Like, they also convert to CFL rules or something.

The OSU/PSU division is extremely top heavy.

OSU/PSU/UW is a stronger top three than UM/UNL/UI, but MSU/NU/MIN is a much stronger bottom than PU/IU/IL.

Eh, I feel like Illinois is a sleeping giant. If they ever get a good coach, watch out.

Illinois always seems to recruit well, but their coaching staff is terrible. They have the talent, but Ron Zook can't put it all together. The talent comes in spurts in every game.

Hey, stop stealing my post off bucknuts. :D

The only thing I dont like is for basketball, the east, or w/e theyre going to call it, is extremely good.

I was hoping UNL would be with Penn St!

Still going to be great perrenial matchups, and barring occasional down years, both sides have 3 annual top 25 teams.

BYU = smartest team in the west. Their TV deal (and all other games that they broadcast on BYUTV is more money than they ever could have gotten in the MWC, and more than Utah will ever receive!

Wow, the Bama ones look good, but the Florida ones are tacky as all get out.
Really? The large image kind of blows out the colors, but the overall look isn't so bad. The helmet is easily the best part.

I honestly just skimmed through the Bucknuts thread. That conclusion was my own, I swear. :lol

I do hope we get a yearly matchup with Nebraska.

Are they going to have divisions for basketball? I assumed the split was mainly for football.

Why do you guys always put the L at the end as if there is some other Nebraska university that is even remotely relevant?

I doubt it.

No they really don't. Ron Turner recruited like he was coaching a 1AA school and Zook's last two classes have been terrible.

This BYU TV deal will spawn a lot of hate from outsiders identical to Notre Dame's.

Most people will now want BYU and Notre Dame to lose whatever televised game it is.

For me, it's to avoid confusion with Northwestern.

Nebraska's main acronyms are UNL and NU, and Northwestern already uses NU.

Yes, because everyone hates Army and Navy.

ND is hated because they are ND not because they are independent.

Really? I thought people hated teams that could just pick their opponents and have all their games televised nationally.

It's to remind people they actually have cities in Nebraska.

Sounds a lot better than UN - Cornfield by highway 9.

Probably not. But whatever they might say, this is almost certainly the real reason for going indie.

There's also quite a lot of anti-Catholic sentiment behind it, though few will admit it.

BYU's religious stigma is even more severe.

No. Everyone hates ND because they are ND.

Maybe in Big 10 country their is hate that they won't join your conference... but I don't care who they schedule, I hate them.

But they just signed a deal to play each other 6 times. I never know who to root for when Meechigan plays ND, either. I just root for coaches to get rolled when they're looking the other way.
