As a Rutgers fan, all this conference re-alignment talk is nerve-wrecking. I can easily see Rutgers getting left out of a BCS conference if/when the Big East collapse. Losing Syracuse and Pitt is huge. Pitt was a member since the 80s and Syracuse was one of the founding members of Big East Football.

It's not a done deal yet but it might as well be. The fact that the ACC unanimously upped the exit fee to $20 million is probably a stipulation for Pitt and Syracuse to join. The question now though is whether the ACC is staying at 14 or going to 16. If the ACC goes to 16, then all bets are off and the other conferences will race to 16 as well.

Regardless of what happens, the next couple of weeks will be interesting.

UConn & Rutgers are both better options than Syracuse (up in the middle of nowhere) or Pitt (completely surrounded by B1G territory), if money is your goal.

Where the move by ACC will screw you is that they will get one of Notre Dame or Texas. No chance of getting both of them now.
UConn & Rutgers don't fit in a B1G eastward expansion. UVa & Maryland were the more attractive targets.

Seriously, if I were Chizik I'd pick out one DB and say "See that fast fucker wearing #2. Yeah, don't ever be more than 2 steps from him or you'll be playing for North Alabama next year."

Wow UGA just lined up our top DB, Brandon Boykin, as a receiver and he caught a nice underneath pass and made a few guys miss. Good to get him on the field with the ball in his hands to see what he can do after the catch.

But that would be coaching.

Chip Brown is now saying that TTU has blocked UT's move to the ACC, since the ACC doesn't want Tech.

In other news, Chip Brown knows nothing except what DeLoss Dodds tells him.

Fire all of Penn State's coaching staff
so do you think Temple's current coach will come to Duke for 2 million a year once we fire Cut in a couple of months? I don't care if he's winning with Golden's players. Our coach can't win with his players so maybe someone else can.

I don't know why I continue to tune into this Penn State offense....it's funny how ESPN keeps talking about 1941, because that's what the PSU O looks like.

Its...BAD this year.

Heh. Just like Baylor blocked A&M->SEC, right?

Guess Tejas is positioning itself to either go to the Pac or go indy, while still saving some face on the ACC bluff.

The ACC is a ridiculous bluff, IMO. Of course the ACC would take them, but it's absolutely insane to be in a conference in which your closest conference opponent is FSU.

I think they realize that the Pac-16 with the Oklahoma schools is their best option, but they want to retain as much bargaining power when they negotiate a revised TV deal for a regional network.

OU's gonna call their bluff next week by announcing their application to the Pac-12, then we'll see just how serious UT is about keeping LHN.

Texas should just go independent - see if it still "works" despite what ND pundits tell you, and if it doesn't, they'll have just as much leverage in five years for a move as they do now.
