right click on the volume icon(the one right under next to the time and date) and click on playback devices and select AMD HDMI output(seeing you have a 6850).Thrakier said:I want sound, yes. How do I configure that?

Not sure about the first.Thrakier said:Thanks guys, I now got picture, but two problems:
1. when both displays are connected my TFT monitor starts flickering (like not enough HZ)
2. I have my desktop on the sony tv (resolution is supposedly 1080p) but the picture got black bars around it...

For the second, change your TV's aspect ratio setting to fullscreen.
I've always had a small border around my image (which never really bothered me) so I'll try this!2San said:2. AMD naturally underscans the image just in case for projectors. So you need to change that in the Catalyst Control Centre. So open CCC go to "My digital flat panels" -> scaling options and move the scaler to the right.
If it comes back for certain games. It's because it the output frequency has changed(Crysis drove me insane). It seems scalings settings are saved according to the refresh rate. If you just put the scaling slider at the right place for 50Hz and 60Hz you should be fine.Foliorum Viridum said:I've always had a small border around my image (which never really bothered me) so I'll try this!
Thrakier said:My TV is set to 1:1 pixel.
The flickering goes as soon as I unplug the HDMI cable.
Thrakier said:OK, so my TV is fine now. Despite the fonts which look...I don't know, can't describe it. It's almost "too sharp". It doesn't look too natual but maybe that's just me.
However the problem with the flickering is still there on my main display when the display is connected next to the HDMI slot via D-Sub. You can see it in black and grey area esepcially, not so much with full brightness.

coopolon said:I assume you are using a DVI-VGA adapter since the 6850 doesn't have any d-sub ports? Have you checked to make sure it's tightly secured to both the graphics card and the VGA cord? Have you tried just using a DVI cable instead (one often comes with monitors)?
staticneuron said:Iirc if the TV is not 1:1, the edges may not line up correctly. On my DLP it goes offscreen to the right (overscan?) and I need to use video card drivers to align screen correctly.
The effect with the fonts is something I've noticed when connecting TVs to PC via HDMI. It's weird, but I think it may have to do with post-processing on the TV's side.Thrakier said:OK, so my TV is fine now. Despite the fonts which look...I don't know, can't describe it. Ah yes, a friend of mine is using a recent Sony LCD as well and the TV is always applying some image processing that does effect the image quality (it is most noticeable with fonts).Thrakier said:OK, so my TV is fine now. There was no specific "PC mode" on this display, however, so image quality was always an issue. Many TVs allow for proper PC mode with minimal to no processing, which results in an image as clean as an actual monitor.
See here:Thrakier said:Thanks guys, but the screen flickering on my TFT is the real problem here when both HDMI-cable and VGA-D-Sub are connected. no explanation for that?
Oh, and in Crysis 2 I still have small black bars around the picture? And I need to find a way to play those games more comfortably...it's sucks with mouse and Keyboard on the ocuch.

Sysgen said:You can change the aliasing of your fonts through the control panel (Windows 7). I think it's under display. There's a step through wizard. I had to do this with my 27" Samsung.
Thrakier said:Yeah, but it's kinda hard to do it. I almost see no difference between the various fonts.
So, ehre comes the next problem (sigh, who said comfy couch gaming was like plug and play? It really isn't):
In Crysis 2 I can't see the logo while calibrating the brightness. That's weird, beccause I saw it BEFORE in Crysis 2 ON my TV. I know it worked. Now it's gone. RGB is set to limited because I know my TV doesn't support Full. Everything looks right in the windows 7 color calibrating process. Gamma is fine there. But in Crysis 2 it doesn't work. Why?
Also, is tehre a way to make the Desktop bigger without it affecting games as well?
