Comic Book Movie Adaptations -- Best, Worst, and Ones You Didn't Realize

Didn't realize:

I did not even know V For Vendetta was a comic book until after I bought the DVD. The one from Best Buy with the fist mask.

Same with Ghost World, I just loved the movie but only found out its origin after watching the DVD features.

Those are two of my faves.

I also love Bat-Man in most of its incarnations. The original campy 60's version. The Tim Burton ones as well as the third just because of Jim Carrey. And the newer Begins series.

Spider-Man. At least the first two. Have not seen the third yet.

The first two Superman movies, and to an extent the newest one.

I used to love the old black and white George Reeves show on N@N back in the day. -- i.e. the 90's.

And I'm a super fan of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

And the X-men movies.

I really haven't seen one I didn't like. I just usually stay away from the crappy ones thus keeping me out of the loop. (i.e. I've never seen Daredevil or Elektra.)

Also, I don't consider Smallville part of the Superman canon. In fact, I wish it would die and rot in hell for trying to be so shitty.

Ohhh I forgot all about the worst comic book adaptation of all time, LXG League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Talk about shitting on a man's work.

im guessing somthing we all knew would be bad like steel or striperella would have to take the cake for worst.

Best hrmm

The Crow
Superman
Batman / Batman Begins
Transformers The Movie *animated* Marvel got comic books rights outta the whole developing a story for the toy line deal.
V for Vendetta
Spiderman 2
Sin City
Blade 1/2
American Splendor

and special mention for Unbreakable...the only thing missing is a comic book but as far as a comic book movie goes it just may be the best "orgins" type comic book on film out there.

My favorite? Dick Tracy, directed by Warren Beatty--possibly because it's a nearly forgotten movie.
I have to agree with this. It's odd that time has been so unkind to this movie, as it was very successful and well-liked at the time.

And what Al Pacino role is more fun than Big Boy Caprice?
