They better bring in Lex Luthor. Seriously. He'd be a perfect villain for this.

Wouldn't that be too much? You have to fit the whole Superman/Batman introduction and then interaction alongside a massive villain. It would probably mean at least one half of the film would feel a bit rushed - you only really get one chance to do a Lex Luthor film, and one chance to do a Bat/Super intro.

A dark and gritty Batman but not quite as realistic as Nolan's I'd guess.

Yeah, maybe a similar style to Gotham and the villains, but a bit more 'charisma' (not sure that is the best word) to Batman?

I haven't read it but how in the world can batman be the villain when superman could kill him by looking at him

Also I can't believe Snyder has basically become the biggest director in hollywood so fast

Because he's fucking Batman.

In all seriousness, Superman might start out by underestimating Batman, who takes advantage of that and finds out everything he needs to know about him. That would make an interesting tension between the two.

Oh man, I can't wait for some of that brilliant Sucker Punch level writing combined with Goyer!

Yeah forreal. I can't believe this is the case now but it feels like marvel studios (the one that seemed to strive for mediocrity in it's movies) is valuing good writers now over DC

Same. :/ I am so fucking bored of a super dark and brooding Bruce.

Nope! It's much better than the abomination they made for this movie, that's for sure.

Synder has talked for years how Frank Miller's Batman is his definitive version of Batman that he'd want to see on screen. With Synder there is no way it wouldn't be a Frank Miller Bruce/Bat.

Am I the only one that likes that logo?

Also would't this be more of a team up movie with a moral battle between the two than a Batman vs Supes flick?

I dig that bat logo better than the one that was just previewed (Looked like Adam West Batman logo...)

Lex Luthor would be a perfect foil for Bruce Wayne, actually.

Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date inSummer 2015.

Welp, that's that. It was fun while it lasted

Yessssss. Gimme dat Luthor too.

While it's the best way to reboot Batman so quickly after a successful trilogy, it's also a very risky move.

If they screw this up they could end up ruining both franchises at once.

No, I don't think it would be too much. This movie needs an overarching villain, it can't just be about the fight between Batman and Superman. I think that having Lex Luthor as the larger villain, who pokes and prods both heroes and instigates events, would be a great way to make a more solid and engaging movie.

After hearing MoS' soundtrack I kind of wish he weren't. I loved his work on TDK and TDKR but still thought it was missing that touch from James Newton Howard.

The MoS soundtrack was just awful.

I have like the exact opposite opinion :p

I loved the MOS score and thought TDK/TDKR scores were kind of eh

Yeah, this is what I hope it's going for too. Batman starts out as the 'villain' and they team up to stop Lex Luthor by the end.

Why is anyone surprised? Synder has called Miller's Batman the definitive Batman. Soon as it was known Synder was doing Batman it was a forgone conclusion it'd be Miller's Batman.

welp. So much for that

I wasn't even really hyped and now it's stone dead.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be interesting. But - i'm saying it would be too much for one film, especially where a good deal of time is going to have to be devoted to the Batman and Superman thing. Can you really satisfactorily have good interaction, story and character development between Bat/SM, SM/Lex and Bat/Lex all meeting for the first time in 2.5 hours?

I guess that I would say wait for the next one - but then there is the whole Justice League etc...

So Batman goes to Metropolis to investigate Luthor? Superman gets involved because him and Lex are buddies (because Lex hasn't shown his true side). Clark believes Lex really wants to help humanity. Bat tries to convince Supes that Lex is evil and planning something. They argue. Ends up Batman was right and Lex has been planning on using Kryptonian tech he acquired after MoS to hurt Superman. Lex is revealed for the monster he is.

It could work, I just wonder how they'll spin it out of his current MoS character. :P

I know. I was just saying how he could have made a good villain.

If this was Nolan then I could safely say that I would be more hyped for this superhero movie then any other by a country mile. But instead it is the Man of Steel crew (Goyer and Snyder), and I am left crossing my fingers hoping they can somehow greatly improve upon their previous effort and realize the potential such a project has.

Like everything Snyder has ever done...ever, I'm hyped as fuck for the trailer. Can't depend on much beyond that...especially with him on board as writer.

Well it looks like all things superman now belong to Snyder/Goyer but they better keep these fuckers away from justice league and flash

Too bad Edgar wright and joe Cornish were snatched up by marvel. They'd write an awesome Wally west Flash movie

It will be interesting to see what they do with Batman's suit, since Bruce will undoubtedly get a hold of some of that alien technology.

If they can't even get a logo right, I don't have high hopes for the rest of the project. Looks busted as all hell.
