Not open for further replies.
Avatar 2
Avengers 2
Superman x Batman
Star Wars Episode VII
Jussasic Park IV
Pirates of the Caribbean 5
Finding Dory
Die Hard 6: Die Hardest (not a joke lol)
Next James Bond film
The Smurfs 3

Sounds like an awful year for films, but a great year for the box office.

I'm gonna laugh so hard when Avatar 2 ends up being the best out of the 2015 blockbusters aside from maybe Bond 24.

2015 will feel too soon for a different Batman.

If they get Bale, Batman will need no introduction. They'll have the whole backstory of The Dark Knight trilogy to work with. The only thing they'll have to change is the way Baleman fights.

The only introduction Batman needs is to see him suited up and in character. The character is the draw not the actor.

I love Nolan Batman but that story is done, that Batman is done. Its time for new. Batman doesn't need a new origin story or any other backstory than hey look its Batman and he fights crime. And the last thing I want is a good chunk of awesome Batman villians already used/dead.

This thread is interesting in that a large number of people seem to be actively criticizing the "fatness" of the bat-logo, while at the same time completely ignoring that the logo pretty much spells out this doesn't have anything to do with Nolan's Batman.
I thought the same thing. But still, nothing's been confirmed yet. If Bale was completely off the table, they probably would've mentioned that already in order to get people used to the idea.

Just introduce him as a younger kid in a after credit spot than age him up in the movie. So in a Batman movie he isn't some newb figuring things out.
I think you need to show a little of how Robin came in Bruce's care to ease audiences into it.

The way I'm thinking it would go in a new Batman movie is basically a two hour version of "Robin's Reckoning" from B:TAS. Bruce takes Dick in at like 8, trains the kid for years (training shown in a montage), and when we finally see Batman and Robin, Dick is like 18. Then the second and third act has them solving a case related to the death of Dick's parents.

Highest grossing movie of 2015 confirmed. This will be huge. If they mess this up, then they deserve prison. The real cause for concern is the writing team. Both of them don't exactly inspire confidence.

You think it will make more than Avatar 2, Avengers 2?

Shit I don't put it past Star Wars and Bond to out gross it.

Well, if the first avatar is anything to go by, I'm not holding my breath for it to beat any of the other movies on that list.

I have extreme doubts about the general population having a better opinion of Man of Steel than Avatar. I'll even slide Rises in there.

I know this is not the popular opinion, but I would lose my shit in a good way if Bale was Batman in this. Or at least made a cameo.

I would start clapping the theatre right then and there.

TDKR left off with....

1 - Bruce Wayne is dead.
2 - Batman is gone.
3 - Wayne manor is now an orphanage.
4 - A beat cop is training in the Bat Cave to take over crime fighting duties.
5 - Joker is dead. (might as well be)
6 - Two Face is dead.
7 - Talia is dead.
8 - Ras is dead and not Immortal.
9 - Bane is dead.
10 - Scarecrow is a pussy.

Yeah, that's a prefect way to start a new Batman Franchise. Bale wont be back. It will be a new Batman in a new direction.

Bale himself has said he's off the table. Multiple times. The only way he comes back is if Nolan's directing, and even then, it'd have to be a really damned good story.

This is a Snyder/Goyer production.

Bale's out.

edit: so far as the weird "logo-shaming" or whatever :)

There are way more Batman logos that look like the one in the reveal than there are logos that look like either Nolan's OR Burtons.

I am so hyped.

It'd be awesome of Batman was going after Lex Luthor who was busy trying to rebuild that huge crater in Metropolis. Superman obviously is still not in "good" with the public, but he still saved them, and he thinks helping Luthor will maybe help humanity trust him. Supes has to try and stop Batman, who finally calls him out and tells him "Do you realize how dirty Luthor is? He's not trying to help anyone." Supes realizes he's been used the whole time, and the two have to go after Lex...

I dunno. That's how I'd do it.

But fuck, SO HYPED

That would be a whole movie just on Robin. I'm not sure people want that.

lol at avatar hate.

have you guys seen that final battle recently? it still shits on every other action scene since. the aerial battle looks so good.

Nothing is outgrossing Avengers or Avatar. Star Wars is running for third place and it's a strong contender.

Maybe but... Avatar got a bit of a backlash, and while I know the prequels did too, I think a new Star Wars with new filmmakers may be more exciting for people than another Avatar. Not to mention Episode VII happening was a huge surprise. You're probably right, but that seems really difficult to gauge at this point.

The movie needs to have some scenes of Superman trying to make up for the part he played in the disaster in Metropolis. Open with him helping clear wreckage and offering assistance to reluctant construction crews. People are still tense around him, and public opinion is very divided. Enter Luthor and Batman to represent what think of Supes: Luthor representing those that view him as dangerous and want him gone, and Batman representing those that think he's here to help but needs his power reigned in. (Lois, of course, would be the rep for the third group of people that love Superman and think he's just swell.)

True. I'm thinking you could write it in such a way that the movie is about Batman and Robin's relationship and how they help each other grow as people. The movie would be told from Robin's perspective, but give Batman a clear arc and focus throughout. Plus, I think showing us Batman as Robin sees him would make for a nice change of pace after we've had an entire trilogy on just Bruce.

The smart money would bet on:

1). James Cameron.
2). RDJ & Hulk.
3). Jedi's.

So many, if not all of those movies are going to under-deliver. I feel it in my bones. And unencumbered by a simple world building script, Cameron is gonna T2/Aliens the Avatar sequel and surprise a lot of people who hate the first one so much.

I agree that Batman is the draw, but Bale is already recognized as the character and would only make things easier and add hype to the film imo. I completely agree though that Bale or no Bale, skip the origin filler.

About dead villains in the Nolanverse... If you think about it, the only major villain that's really confirmed dead is Two-Face. :P

Yes! I loved Man of Steel, and with Batman being in the sequel, that means the movie won't waste half the film retelling his origins (again)!

Consider me pumped and ready to go!

forreal. out of all the upcoming films only avatar 2 is guaranteed to be a great blockbuster. james cameron and a sequel is formula for god-tier.

maybe ant man, that depends on casting.

I want to see him lift the remnants of the ship out of Metropolis without the control chair. Destroying that part was kind of unecessary. :P

For all the shit Batman and Robin gets (rightfully so), I always loved its logo.

I like that 1992 Batman logo

Anyways, HYPED! Loved Man of Steel

I'm still not convinced Marvel/Disney will let Edgar Wright/Joe Cornish do their thing. I need a trailer at the very least.

Shane Black running wild with Iron Man 3 does make me feel a little better about it though.

He was trying to stop a demigod. When two forces collide like that, things go boom. The world should kind of be thanking him for you know preventing their FUCKING PURGE

I get that, but the fact is the destruction in the movie has been and will continue to be the albatross around this franchise's neck. Might as well throw the audience a bone by having Superman have to deal with it in the next film.

I knew this was coming but I am not looking forward to it, especially after the mediocre Man of Steel. Snyder bit off more than he could chew with Man of Steel and this will probably be even more complicated and hard to pull off. I wish the streams did not have to converge. :(

I guess it would be a nice gesture... but surely no one with a right mind is blaming him for that. :p

Wouldn't have been a purge in the first place without having this alien weirdo on our planet.

Kick him off, he can go live on Mars with Doctor Manhattan and Edgar Allan Poe.
