Excited, but it might be awkward introducing a new Batman in a crossover. Also seems a bit out there for a MoS sequel.
At this point can you really call it "introducing" Batman? If there's one character that doesn't need another origin treatment, it's Batman. He could show up in Sleeping Beauty without an introduction.
I loved MOS, but fuck me I can't wait for Batman to put his fist in that smug bastards face.
I think this too. Batman's origin was well told in Nolan movies. MoS didn't do much for Superman's character.Near as I can tell, Batman is going to be a supporting character in Superman's movie. It will mostly be Clark's story and use his villains, but Batman will be running around somewhere.

Maybe this point was already made, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone else find it kinda off-putting that they're saying the sequel to Man of Steel - a SUPERMAN movie - is being inspired by a Batman story?
And break his wrist in the process?
It's a weird comic to adapt considering the MoS version of Superman isn't going to be a soldier for America.
It's even more weird because of the series of events that forced these two to be facing off. I expect nothing from that comic to be adapted aside from that one moment where Batman "supposedly" gets the best of Supes.
That is a very risky theme for a movie considering the powersets and the effort needed to make this look plausible instead of laughable.
If they choose to have a villain to tie these two together I suspect it will be Intergang. Their ties to Apokolips would be a good way to foreshadow events for Justice League.
Snyder said:were not adapting this thing, but it is the thing that will help us tell that story.
Really hope Batman narrates to himself like a noire film.
Superman: "Are you talking to yourself?"

next up: vampire hordes to destroy all major cities
Oh shit. Did Warner Bros wanted to make this film or something?
Avengers 2 v Batman/Superman?
Avengers 2 by a nose, assuming Marvel keeps up their shit in 2014. Iron Man 3's opening weekend vs MoS' proved their dominance.
They're both going to be annihilated by Episode VII though.
I also felt like Dark Knight Retuns was actually mocking the perfectness of SupermanAnd break his wrist in the process?

And Nolan was actually mocking the badassness & coolness of Batman.I also felt like Dark Knight Retuns was actually mocking the perfectness of Superman
Just look at that picture. That's almost a caricature.
WTF??
This sounds awesome but....I guess we're not getting a sequel to Man of Steel with Lex then??![]()
I'm a pretty big batman fan and despite not usually liking superman i quite enjoyed man of steel. This announcement couldn't be anymore disappointing to me. Would much rather keep the two of them separate.
So the movie is going to be a mockeroniAnd Nolan was actually mocking the badassness & coolness of Batman.
Whoeroe's thoe triggeooorrr!
No, I'd strongly argue that he very much is. It's certainly only him or maybe Superman who would carry that crown (most old generation people will likely know who Superman is thanks to the original movie). Not just in Western Europe, but if you went to some rural village in China or India, they'd likely name you either Batman or Superman long before any other superhero (if they even know of any others). Batman especially has a long and continued history in media that most people know who he is regardless of where you go on the planet. That helps them a lot in terms of being recognisable to even newer generations. The advantage Batman has currently is that not only is he coming off the most successful superhero trilogy ever, he's also enjoying extreme levels of success in gaming, and has a big and continued presence in animations, comics etc. The Dark Knight was so influential, it even inspired dramas in Asian countries.Yet this happened:
Also this is the same company that didn't want Superman to be called Superman, didnt want him to fly, and said for him to get rid of the costume because it looked "too faggy". I dunno if you were around in the late 90s/early 00s but I was and I don't forget what WB has done and continues to do (just look at Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, and their planned Lobo film). Also Batman is not the most recognizable super hero of all time lmao.
I agree, but I would say that Spiderman is also somewhere up there with Batman and Superman when it's about international fame. No, I'd strongly argue that he very much is. I haven't read through this thread yet -- have we gone through Batman candidates? I'm all for Kevin Smith's suggestion from a few years back.

So they are rebooting Batman only three years after the Nolan series ended? I think a lot of people are going to be confused. Justice League has to happen somehow though, though I wonder if you take away some of the oomph by having Supes and Bats interact a lot in this movie.
I also felt like Dark Knight Retuns was actually mocking the perfectness of Superman

I think by now most people going to see these movies understand reboots.
The Nolan movies are perfect. DC should try and follow that with all their movies if they can.

Will Bale be offered the role?
Highly, highly doubtful, but they should.
