Comic Con: Superman/Batman Movie Confirmed

This movie would have to be an unmitigated disaster to not be a financial success. I mean, it's Superman and Batman, the biggest superheroes of all time, together in a live action movie. People are going to go see that shit.

Now is it going to be a good movie? Who can say? Opinions on Man of Steel have been so divided that it could go either way, I feel.

I'm so back and forth on this announcement. On the one hand, it's fucking World's Finest. On the other, I'm not entirely confident in the creative team.

At this point, I just want them to announce a Wonder Woman movie to shut up all the people who say you can't make a Wonder Woman movie.

I mean, we now live in a world where Ant-Man and Rocket Raccoon are getting movies. Ant-Man and Rocket Raccoon! No way Wonder Woman can't work.

I was thinking it would be awesome if she showed up at the end.. but I feel people would complain that she is nothing more than a cameo..

Like I think a Trinity movie would be awesome, but establishing two heroes plus a plot would be hectic

I don't think people are going to accept anything less than a solo Wonder Woman movie. Well, the people who are on board with one anyway. It's such a huge oversight in WB's current rumored lineup that I really want to believe that they have one planned. Of course, their treatment of Wonder Woman has never inspired confidence.

A Trinity movie would be dope, but I agree that it may be a bit much in the current format of comic movie universes. Personally, I wouldn't want it before a solo Wonder Woman movie because of the danger of her being viewed as just a supporting player in Superman/Batman's world.

Uh, you are aware that Avengers isn't the biggest movie ever, correct? To get that title, it'd have to do near $3 billion and beat Avatar. But please continue laughing at these imaginary people who are saying it will reach those heights.

Uh, I never said I thought Avengers was the biggest movie ever. Oh and yes I will continue to laugh at those people throughout the internet who made those claims and seem to think D.C. have got one over Marvel.

MOS was by no means a flop but it underperformed so Warner's hit the panic button.

Wonder Woman movie needs to be a war between the Amazons and Atlantis. Two birds with one stone. And starting Aquaman as a villain might help the public opinion of him.

See but here's the thing: in a world where MoS is getting so much shit for not being happy-go-lucky and too violent and all that, would people really want to see DC introduce two new heroes by having them and their families try to kill each other?

A war should play into Wonder Woman's movie - she is a messenger of peace, after all - but I don't think it should be a war with Atlantis. Rather, she comes to man's world to stop a war being orchestrated by Ares (or Circe. I would prefer Circe, tbh). Aquaman should just be introduced in Justice League. Make him a badass adventurer with a king's arrogance, and hope audiences warm up to him.

That's fantastic! This could work.

But then don't turn it into a story about Men Vs. Women

This I agree with 100%. I'm so tired of people thinking Wonder Woman's story is all about gender wars and proving women are just as good as men (as if they need to prove that).

The last DC volume 1 comics that I have read were during the Imperiex War in 2001, so I would not have known.

Well luckily for you it is being turned into a DTV which is out next week.. or available on iTunes and Amazon Instant today.. and worth checking out

Brutal movie though

One over Marvel? Which children are you hearing these things from? If you're not part of Marvel, the fact that you think like this is even more sad. Also, I very much doubt WB consider Man of Steel to have underperformed. They'd have to have some unrealistic expectations to do so. It's managed to do better than every superhero movie barring the Spider-Man movies, the TDK movies, Iron Man 3 and Avengers. That's a very good start.

Good I like the new Bat Logo.

Cause frankly I think the Begins/Dark Knight one SUCKS.

Adam West's bat logo is better than the Nolan one.

the logo is crappy.hope they fix it later. Nolan's bat logo was way better.

I wouldn't expect to see Nolan's logo again though. It's too connected to those films and they are gonna want to distance the new Batman from that. I'm really interested to see the new costume design. I personally like TDK suit, but I know there are folks that hate it. I wonder if they are going to incorporate more gray (ala the comics costume).

Whipped up a logo to see how it would look with the Nolan Bat, The New Bat is ugly as shit.

I hate the perfect top edge on the TDK logo. It was too serious, and so lame that they shrunk it on the TDK suit. The Batman Begins shield was great though.

Instead of just throwing one logo on top of another, why don't they just carve the 'S' into the Bat logo? Just make that part red. It would look more cohesive.

Regarding these other logos folks are posting: Don't have a problem with the Snyderverse official logo. It is obviously reminiscent of The Dark Knight Returns, but it also subtly reminds me of season 4 B:TAS and JL/JLU logo.

Snyder's probably the best chance to get a somewhat comics-faithful Batman costume.

I would like to see Batman finally have the pouches on his belt. Ditch that wacko track-sliding/retracting bullshit.

Yeah, nobody wants to hear that, though. In lieu of having literally NOTHING ELSE to criticize but a logo and a general concept, it's easy to go in on the logo. There's at least a jpeg to work with, there. :)

Guess I left an "I" out of "I don't have a problem with." Oops.

Not everyone is gonna like the logo and that's cool. It does mark the beginning of a movie discussion on the internet. Nothing to talk about? Lets deconstruct the logo.

Dear god,w hat is this bullshit? Man of Steel did not underperform. Why do people continue spouting this line?

Because if a movie isn't doing Batman or Avengers numbers it's a flop or at least it's underperforming. The internet has spoken.

EDIT: Actually even that's wrong cause MoS IS bigger than Batman (Batman Begins, the origin story that is). In fact MoS is bigger than any Superhero movie that isn't a sequel and is not about Spiderman.

Yeah this Superman/Batman movie will break the bank if it will be at least somewhat coherent.

The head and ears on the new bat logo could stand to be just a tad taller like in the image a few posts above. Then it'd be perfect.

Because Avengers brah
Funny thing is that Ironam, Ironman 2, Captain America, Thor and The Incredible Hulk are quickly forgotten then.

It will be interesting to see how Thor 2 does. IM3 certainly did have an increase from Avengers but then again Avengers was really Ironman 3: This time with super friends.

show me websites or documents that show WB thought it underperformed, otherwise you're spouting nonsense.

Has such a story ever occurred in the comics before? That is a brilliant idea though!

YES! flashpoint, they even have an animated movie out this week.

Oh look another person trying to be witty. If anything it was Caps Movie. He inched out IM in screen time. ;)

Whoever the bad guy ends up being in this movie I hope Aquaman pops out at the end and stabs him in the eye. Then he will get the respect he deserves!

New 52 Darkseid is an absolute monster. Aquaman and Wonder Woman stabbed him in the eyes and he just kept coming.

I think there was like a minute difference there, wasn't it? But it was all about Ironman, seeing that he was best equiped to deal with the alien army, diverted the nuke, saved Cap, and had the final 'oh we're gonna get you' conversation with Lokki.

They should that put on the box!
