Some of the last gasp of great comics and you don't want to read them? LOL

Kids these days.

Go read wikipedia on your ipad and update your facebook. :P

Three days left on vacation. I may head into the attic before it's over to dig out my Uncanny X-Men run.

Funny thing, that. I'm old, don't have a Facebook account and have a cell phone that has barely heard of the internet. :)

I read comics as a kid in the late 80s early 90s and I still have a big stack of them in a box I'll never throw away. I just find older comics kind of a chore to read. It's not even the art. I can deal with the simple art and no-shading coloring of older books. I just find the writing in older books a little overly verbose. I much prefer the more cinematic, easy-reading of modern comics.

Damn looking through that list, what a great year this was for comics...

Though I probably would've given it to Scalped I mean c'mon people lets be real

I like Black Spiderman and all but now way is it a top ten comic. Well deserved for Daredevil but brahs are crazy for not placing Ghostbusters anywhere on that list.

.

With a little tweaking i could have been sold on this.

I agree the 5 issues ive read while good definitely not top 10 material....im guessing this is half hype half the comic being good.

Uncanny X-Force is actually my number 1 for the year, i really really loved it the Dark Angel Saga is probably my favorite event(arc) of the year too.
Uncanny X-Force forever.

i feel bad that i havent read #5 #4 and #3 on the list.....well atleast Ill have something to buy as a reward to myself for making it through another year.

Twice now, Erica Durance has dressed up as Wonder Woman for television. Instead of a cosplaying Lois Lane on 'Smallville', however, she'll this time be playing a mentally unstable woman arrested for dispensing vigilante justice, in an episode of 'Harry's Law'.

Hope they washed that thing after the pilot wrapped.

I'd smash with the power of Superman.

Watched Thor and Green Lantern again.

My complaints with Thor still stand. Kenneth Branagh is not an action direction. Frost "giants" are still fucking lame. Shit was still too damned dark. Asgard is bronze and lifeless, the Asgard stage in MvC3 is better than the lame Asgard we got in the movie.

Heroes journey arc played out well, and it definitely played better on my dinky TV than in the theater.

Green Lantern with the extended footage on Hal, Carol, and Screamy Guy childhood helps pad out some of the inconsistencies later on in the movie; but the movie is still meh. Loved the Oa scenes, Oa looked alive and inhabited unlike Asgard. Special effects were great.

Hope they go ahead with a Green Lantern sequel and don't fuck it up. Maybe pull a G.I. Joe sequel and ditch Reynolds, and do a Green Lantern Corps movie with Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and John Stewart in space. :3

Glad to hear Portman is out of Thor 2. Hopefully they'll go whole hog and bring in Beta Ray Bill. :P

Guys and gals, a few days ago I began working up a "2011 in Review" thread to post before year's end; however, between transitioning over to a brand new PC and writing something else in my free time, I just sort of lost interest. But if anyone wants to take a whack at one, here are some handy links to all of the CBD threads from this year.

Is anyone reading X-Factor? I'm not so sure I'm onboard with what PD is doing with Layla's power set. It just got weird. I liked it better when she just "knew stuff" as a result of her causality power and fractured mind dump with her future self.

Wow nice work on those CBD threads, Spike. I can see why they stopped though, they look labor intensive as shit.

Shit's getting deep in Justice League Dark. Gods I love Milligan when he's on.

I need to get into JLD. That's the only book in the new 52 I'm interested in that I haven't actually read yet.

Those weekly threads are what got me into reading monthly comics instead of tbp's a year or two ago. It is easier finding these though.

And I'm back home twenty minutes before the ball drops so I think I'll finally read Ghostbusters. Have all the issues but was waiting until I got #2 as I missed it the first go around and took my shop awhile to get it.

So, inspired by the cover for the latest issue of American Vampire, I went and picked up everything to date.

Spent yesterday reading every issue, and I love love loooove it. I really like the direction of this new arc, too, but I need more Pearl/Henry stories!

I'll start working on the January comic thread, if you guys don't mind. (unless someone else is doing one/has done one)

Why do I have the feeling Pandora is going to get her own mini-series?

On a better note, I finally followed the recommendations from I think last month and picked up some American Vampire. So good. It seems all these new books I'm trying like this and Avengers Academy are better than almost everything else I've been reading.

The first half of Leviathan Strikes shames the rebooted Batgirl book so hard.

What a great issue all around. Didn't realize how much I'd missed Batman, Inc.

Guys some help.
I remember reading comics a time ago about the avengers fighting some kind of unbeatable guy from another planet.
Somebody who used to love a women or something.

I cant remember which comic this was. Can somebody help me with it?

edit: fuck this a year old.

This is every comic ever.

Bonus points if this 'man from space' walks in the air, with his right hand extended before him. The girl of the hero group, staggering in terror and astonishment, with her hand over her agape mouth.

What are the top rated comics right now? I'm trying to get back into them. I love DC more than Marvel but I've always been a fan of X-Men and Thor. There's just so many titles out there right now (Uncanny X-Force? WTH?) and a ton of creative teams I've never heard of. I used to collect mostly Marvel but I always loved reading Batman, JLA, Nightwing...

And is Straczynski up to anything?

The main Batman book has been awesome since the reboot and Green Lantern has been really strong for years. The secondary GL books are quite enjoyable too. Aquaman is a really good read right now too. Ultimate Spider-Man is really good. It's definitely worth picking up all the trades. It's been pretty consistently good since it started.

JLA and Nightwing both suck these days.

SERIOUSLY, this shit is boring. where the fuck is Wonder Woman?

im sick of these pressed-ass gods getting all of my girl's screen time

i dont give a shit about Azzarello's self-insert character as Ares

i want to see her tear bad guys a new asshole

Indeed. Those bracers need to come off again.

I was confused when I saw a post by TTOB. Then I realized this is from December 2011 with a touch of December 2012. Odd bump.
