It's hard to believe that we've only been back for 10 full days and so far, so good. Extra special thanks to overbose, CK, and Hitokage who have done a great job monitoring traffic and making quick fixes to the system.

If some of you have not noticed already, we are now going to be placing text banner ads from Google. The Google Banner Ads can be found on the bottom of every thread, right below the Post Reply and Post New Topic Buttons. They can also be found on the bottom of thread listings. We actually had these banner ads back at our last home, but the difference here is that any ad revenue generated by clickthroughs will go to the fund established to keep the Gaming-Age Forums up and running.

The Google Ads is just stage 1 of our master plan. As we continue to grow and re-establish our userbase, we will look to additional sources of revenue stream so we can continue to deliver the forums to you on a 24/7 basis. We would also like to reassure you that all funds raised to "Save GAF" will be used to cover ALL COSTS incurred to keep the server running.

Please keep in mind that we have no plans to run advertisements through a third-party vendor. Members of the administration would like to have full control over the content displayed. We will not accept ads from vendors who plan to install ad/spy/malware on your machines, we hate that stuff too. We are currently working out the details on the next step, which will require some traffic analysis and solid facts for prospective advertisers.

Many of us feel that it is you who helped bring the Gaming-Age Forums back to life, so we are committed to keeping you informed. Moving forward, we will update you on any major changes, such as Terms of Service changes, changes to our advertising plan, and any new features we will be adding.

Thank you for continuing to be patient with us in this transition period.

Gaming-Age Forums went offline at 5:45PM EDT - 7:15 EDT. The cause was the log file which had overflowed. Overbose has set up the system so we will not be running into this problem again.

Thanks for reading,
WK
